Just like the scene in The Hunger Games when Katniss volunteers as tribute, music legend Dionne Warwick has put herself forward to date Pete Davidson.

The 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker took to Twitter to amid the rumours swirling around the rumoured romance between the former Saturday Night Live star, 28, and model Emily Ratajkowski, 31.

Warwick took to Twitter and shared her manifestation tweet with her 606,000 followers. "I will be dating Pete Davidson next," she said in the most matter-of-fact way possible on Monday (14 November).

The 81-year-old is no stranger to joking around on Twitter and after people thought she was joking, she then confirmed she sent the tweet and it didn't come from someone handling her Twitter account.

Warwick's video was shared with the caption "If you are new here."

In the video she states: "Well, huh, so there's still some non-believers huh? Well I want you to believe this, I am Dionne Warwick and I tweet.

"Yes I do, and I want y'all to stop thinking I don't okay. Do yourselves a favour alright now, I want you to stop it. Bye!"

    Twitter.

Warwick's Twitter declaration soon spread across social media and has since attracted over 20,000 retweets and just under 240,000 likes less than 24 hours after it was posted.

It should come as no surprise that some Twitter users thought the whole situation was hilarious, while others were less than impressed.

One fan tweeted: "No one will ever be good enough for you, but will always cheer you on!"

While another Twitter user wrote: "I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to, Pete Davidson is a nice guy that gives his heart and soul to treat women nice people act all so surprised when a guy like me or Pete get in a relationship w a beautiful girl."

Quoting one of Warwick's hits, one woman shared: "I don't think that is a ride you'd want to take. You might want to 'walk on by'."

Is it okay to low-key wish for Warwick and Davidson to happen. Let's be real, stranger things have happened.

In fact, the comedian's repertoire is wild. After rising to worldwide fame during his relationship and engagement to pop superstar Ariana Grande and being the focus of her breakup album Thank U, Next, he went on to date Kate Beckinsale and only recently split from Kim Kardashian.

Another famous lady who expressed an interest in dating Davidson is domestic goddess and businesswoman Martha Stewart.

During an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk-show host and Stewart played a game of ‘Red Flag, Yellow Flag, Green Flag' about potential partners, to which Stewart had to respond in accordance with the traffic colours - red meaning ‘no’, green indicating ‘yes’, and yellow sitting somewhere in the middle.

Stewart waved her green flag high when Davidson appeared, adding: “I mean, he's dated so many women.

“I'm not saying that's bad, I think that's good - and he's sort of cute.”

That being said, Stewart confirmed that she's not dating the former SNL star.

UNILAD has approached representatives for both Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski for comment.
