Christina Applegate attends her ‘last ever‘ awards show with cane that says 'F**k You MS'

Applegate was nominated at this year's SAG Awards for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series.

Christina Applegate has attended her ‘last ever’ red carpet at the SAG Awards with a walking stick that read ‘FU MS’.

The Bad Moms star, who revealed she had multiple sclerosis in 2021, donned a gown inspired by a black suit and an embellished cane with her 12-year-old daughter, Sadie, by her side.

The actor was nominated at this year's SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in Dead to Me.

Dead to Me follows a friendship between Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini).

Jen is a recently widowed real estate agent based in Laguna Beach, California, trying to deal with her grief through therapy, exercise, and other methods.

In a recent Los Angeles Times interview, Applegate said this might just be her last red carpet.

“It’s my last awards show as an actor probably, so it’s kind of a big deal,” she told the outlet.

She added: “Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 am and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set; I don’t have that in me at this moment.”

Applegate said that while shooting the show’s third and final season, she began experiencing ‘leg pain and tremors’.

Shortly after her diagnosis, she took some time off to process the news before bravely returning to work to finish filming.

However, the 51-year-old shared how it was hard to complete her final days due to her crippling health.

She said: “I was a wreck every day, but most of that wreck would take place in my trailer by myself. But there were times I’d break down on set and be like, ‘I can’t, we have to take a break, I need a half-hour', and everyone was so loving that it was OK.”

Applegate noted how co-star Cardellini helped her immensely during her struggles, explaining that she took care of her every day on set - reversing their roles in the series.

She said: “The tables were turned: Jen is taking care of her friend who’s dying, yet Linda was taking care of me as I was saying goodbye to the person that I’d always known — so part of me was dying.”

However, the praise didn’t end there, as Applegate said that the next actor who works with Cardellini should realize how ‘incredibly lucky’ they are.

You can now watch all seasons of Dead To Me on Netflix.
