Christina Applegate gets honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

She received her star days after revealing that Dead to Me is likely her final acting gig.

Christina Applegate has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 50-year-old actor received the accolade just days before the final season of Dead to Me drops on Netflix.

The honour also came months after Applegate revealed to the world that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a degenerative disease that affects the central nervous system, causing symptoms such as fatigue, tremors, slurred speech, loss of vision and weakness in limbs.

But on November 14, armed with the cane that she now needs to walk, Applegate received her star on the infamous boulevard to highlight her 35 year career.

The Anchorman star also took it as her chance to thank those who had helped her throughout her long and brilliant career.

"This day means more to me than you can possibly imagine," Applegate said as per ABC. "I don't say that I have friends. I have family."

She added: "These people take care of me. They take care of me every day of my life and without them I don't know what I would do."

By her side were Applegate's Married with Children co-stars David Faustino and Katey Sagal, Dead to Me's Linda Cardellini and show creator Liz Feldman.

Sagal, who played Applegate's on-TV mother in Married with Children, congratulated her for becoming 'so effing famous' while maintaining her 'humility, humour, grace, fortitude [and] bravery'.

"I've seen you, the high highs of love and enormous success coupled with extreme challenges, but you came in with those shoulders and you bear the weight and you bend and you don't break," Sagal said at Applegate's star ceremony, as per TooFab.

"And your humility and irreverence allows all of us to bend with you."

She added: "I continue to love you, laugh with you and to learn from you ... I love the fact that to this day, you still call me mummy."'

"I love you so much, my sweetheart, you're not alone, we love you."

Cardellini also became emotional when addressing Applegate at the ceremony.

"She is one of the greats," the actor said, adding that she can now call Applegate a 'friend for life'.

"She is also a champion for anyone she loves. At some of my weakest moments she has hugged me, looked me in the eyes and said, 'I've got you, we've got this."

Cardellini went on: "And you believe her, because she is exactly the person you want in your corner. A fiercely loyal, honest, generous friend and person."

Applegate received her star days after revealing that Dead to Me may her final role.

Talk about going out with a bang.
