Cher, 76, argues 'love doesn't know maths' as she opens up about age gap between her and new partner

Cher has said ‘love doesn’t know math’ as she shared a topless photo of her 36-year-old boyfriend.
The 76-year-old singer recently revealed she was dating Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years younger than her, after meeting him two months back.
Cher admitted that ‘on paper’ their relationship might look strange but that Edwards tells her that love doesn’t ‘know math’.

Sharing a snap of him wearing just his underpants on Twitter, Cher wrote: “A.E.Hanging Ot [sic]” following it up with the words: “We’re Grown ups.”
In another post, she added: “On paper This Looks strange (Even 2 ME) A.E Says [love heart] Doesn’t Know Math”.
Responding to her post, one fan said: “If your [sic] happy with AE, I mean truly happy, then who cares?? One person’s happiness doesn’t depend on what others think or say. Just my opinion."
To which Cher typed back: “BABE,SOME MARCH 2 A DIFFERENT DRUMMER,I Dance 2 One”.
According to reports, the pair met during Paris Fashion Week, which took place in September. And earlier this month, she shared a snap of him on social media alongside his name and a red love heart emoji.
When some fans expressed their concerns about the age-gap, the singer was quick to shut them down.
She wrote: “As we All Know …I WASN'T BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. "Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am.”
Cher also directly addressed the 40-year age gap between the pair.
When one follower tweeted: “Yess, 40-year age difference. Only Cher I love it!", the musician replied, “Love doesn’t know math, it sees [red heart emojis]. Rinpoche told me ‘some ppl [sic] meet, others ‘recognise’.”
And in another post, she said: "I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone."
Cher certainly needs no introduction, but if you’re wondering who Edwards is, he’s a fairly established name in the music industry.
He is the vice president of A&R at the famous record label which boasts a roster of musicians including Rihanna, Pusha T, Nas, Public Enemy and Justin Bieber.
He previously dated Amber Rose, with whom he shares three-year-old son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards - but the couple went their separate ways in 2021.
Cher has been married twice, firstly to Sonny Bono - with whom she formed pop duo Sonny & Cher - and then to Gregg Allman.
