Elon Musk has made a bold prediction about the future of AI and a humanoid robot that could make his Tesla even more wealthy than it already is.

The Twitter owner and SpaceX founder is certainly not afraid to shy away from making a prediction or two, particularly when it comes to his own companies.

Now, the billionaire is making some predictions about the future of Tesla and what they are doing in AI.

Musk is evidentially very interested in AI, which he last year revealed in a chat he had with former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

And as for his latest prediction about the future of AI, Musk has said by 2040, there will be at least ten billion humanoid robots in the wild that would be priced between $20,000 and $25,000.

The Tesla head honcho was speaking at the eight Future Investment Initiative conference, which is currently taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital.

Musk's foot into the industry is with the Optimus robot, a humanoid robot that is currently being developed by the folks over at Tesla.

The 53-year-old joined the conference in the Middle East via video link, where he explained the development of such AI and how it could potentially multiply Tesla's valuation to $25,000,000,000,000.

Musk said: "Robotic taxis makes Tesla about a $5 trillion company. The Optimus Robot, I think, makes Tesla a $25 trillion company."

Of course, there is a lot of worry surrounding the rise of AI, something which Musk has acknowledged during the chat.

Musk spoke about the need for 'maximally truth seeking' when it comes to AI and the future it may provide for us in the future.

When speaking to Sunak last year, Musk warned there would be a time where 'no job is needed' due to the rise of AI, adding that people could work 'for personal satisfaction if they wished'.

"You can have a job if you want to for personal satisfaction, AI can do everything," he said. "I don't know if that makes people comfortable or uncomfortable. It's both good and bad.

"One of the challenges in future will be how do we find meaning in life. We won't have universal basic income but universal high income. It'll be good for education - it'll be the best tutor."

The Tesla founder added: "There is a need for government to play a role when public safety is at risk. It can be annoying, but having a referee is a good thing.

"AI will be a force for good – most likely – but the chance of it going badly is not zero."
