AI predicts what average American from each state will look like in 1000 year

AI engine Midjourney produced images based on the prompt of what people from different US states would look like in the future

AI has generated some amusing images since it exploded onto the internet, and the latest trend is using it to see what someone might look like in the future.

This follows on from a number of similar prompts, such as what the 'most attractive man' looks like in every country or what the 'average person' looks like for each job.

It's probably fair to say that these images can tend to play into stereotypes around whatever job or country that the person in the image is representing.

That's because AI such as Midjourney works by drawing on databases of images connected to a particular idea.

With that in mind, common conceptions, or misconceptions, have a tendency to be exaggerated by AI.

With that in mind, let's take a look at what Midjourney has generated for what people from different US states will look like in 1,000 years.

Connecticut

The image for Connecticut definitely gives off strong Boston Tea Party vibes, or like he should be riding hard across the country shouting 'the British are coming!'

Interesting hat as well, presumably it's attached to his head with some sort of pin?

One look at the image for Georgia certainly conjures up images of a certain period in American history between 1861 and 1865,

Maybe it'll be worth just checking how many stars are on that flag in the background!

Illinois

This is the first on our list who appears to be dressed in clothes which are a bit more modern. Presumably in the other timelines we ended up in one of those futures that's exactly like the past.

Not for Illinois though, with the person having red hair and a simple grey T-shirt.

Kansas

Whatever's happened in Kansas it's pretty clear that the intervening 1000 years have not been kind to the sunshine state.

The Kansas resident of the future look in dire need of a hot meal and a change of clothes.

Maine

Perhaps one of the more flattering depictions of the future, and one which has futuristic clothes.

Imagine if Gandalf retired from saving Middle Earth to open a small batch craft brewery or artisanal coffee roastery and you'll get Midjourney's image of a Maine resident in 1000 years.

New York

With a state playing host to possibly the most widely known and recognised city in the world, guessing how it might turn out is no easy thing.

But even then, having a figure who looks like they've spent decades in the mountains pondering life's mysteries was wholly unexpected for New York.

Texas

Another one which has played into the more rural aspects of the state in question. In this case, it seems that the cowboy themes around Texas are having some heavy influence.
