Elon Musk gets email from Twitter telling him it's 'time to start managing'

Twitter's new owner has to do a training course in the next 30 days

It seems Elon Musk still has a thing or two to learn about running Twitter after he purchased the company last week.

The business magnate bought the social media site for $44 billion (£38 billion) after he first announced his intention to add Twitter to his collection in April.

Twitter’s new owner soon received an auto-generated email from the company to help him settle into his new ownership role. And naturally, the CEO of Tesla rushed to Twitter to share it with his 112 million followers.

“Just received this email from Twitter,” he shared on Sunday (30 October) along with a screenshot of the email. “This is an actual, real email that was autogenerated."

The email begins casually with a simple 'Hey Elon', however, the siren emojis suggests learning how to manage Twitter is actually quite pressing.

In fact, the billionaire only has a mere 30 days to learn everything there is to know from the ‘mandatory course’ and, with 507 unread emails to get through, we don't know how he'll manage.

Twitter.

The email reads: “It’s time to start Managing @Twitter 101 (M101)!

“M101 covers what it means to be a good manager at Twitter by showing you how to create opportunities for impact, help your Tweeps grow their careers, and demonstrate care for your team.”

The email ends with another reminder about the looming deadline.

“Psst… you’ve only got 30 days to finish this mandatory course. And once you’re done, we’ll enroll you in Managing @Twitter 201.”

We know what you’re thinking – surely the richest person in the world doesn’t have to do the course since he owns the whole company? Well, it appears Musk is totally game to do it, but has been slightly taken aback by the amount of time he has to do it.

“So demanding to allow a mere 30 days to learn this priceless information!” he said in a follow-up tweet. “But Management 201 is such a tantalising carrot…”

Twitter.

It certainly helps that Musk is already a keen tweeter as he took to the comments to answer questions from his followers.

When asked by one Twitter user if he plans ‘to be CEO for some time?’, he quipped: “My title is Chief Twit right there in the bio. No idea who the CEO is.”

Twitter.

And last week, he'd previously shared a video of himself carrying a sink into Twitter HQ - just for a laugh.

He jokingly wrote: "Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!"

This unfolded only two days before the 28 October deadline that a Delaware judge had set for Musk’s Twitter deal to be finalised.

Let's hope that his sink gets to stay in the building!
