Zach Braff leaves ex-girlfriend Florence Pugh suggestive reply on Instagram

The stars enjoyed a cheeky bit of back and forth on Instagram this week

Florence Pugh confirmed she and Zach Braff had called it quits earlier this year, but that didn’t stop the stars enjoying a cheeky bit of back and forth on Instagram this week.

It all started when Braff posted a photo of himself and his Scrubs co-star Donald Faison on Instagram, explaining that they’d be taking part in a 30 minute, auctioned Zoom call to raise money for veterans’ accommodation.

Pugh was quick to comment on Braff’s post, and her remark didn’t go unnoticed by him.

She wrote: “I’m deffo bidding on this,” and in response, Braff quipped: “I’m certain you could get this for free, but it is a very good cause for veterans…”

Pugh confirmed in August that she and Braff - who started dating around 2019 - had gone their separate ways.

The pair shacked up together across the pond during the pandemic and even adopted a dog, but despite their happiness, naysayers continually criticised the 21-year age gap between them, an experience which the Don't Worry Darling actor found 'cruel' and 'invasive'.

After three years of dating, Pugh announced in an interview with Harper's Bazaar that she and Braff had quietly split up earlier this year.

She told the publication that the pair had been trying to do the separation 'without the world knowing', pointing out it had been a relationship 'that everybody has an opinion on'.

"We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we're not together. So we've done that," Pugh said, adding: "I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it."

She added: "Whenever I feel like that line has been crossed in my life, whether it's paparazzi taking private moments, or moments that aren't even real, or gossip channels that encourage members of the public to share private moments of famous people walking down the street, I think it's incredibly wrong.

"I don't think that people, just because they have this job, that every aspect of their life should be watched and written about. We haven't signed up for a reality TV show."

After receiving backlash about their age gap in the past, Pugh sternly told her Instagram followers that she doesn't need people to tell her who she 'should and should not love'.

She said: “It is not your place. And really, it has nothing to do with you.”

The Dune 2 star would often dedicate gushing social media posts to her ex, once writing on one of Braff’s birthdays: “His creativity and ability to put real and honest words onto the page inspires many and all who’s around him, but above all.. his appreciation for life and excitement for LIVING is something I always take note of.”
