Warren Buffett is one of the world’s richest people but he eats like a child, as per his own words.

The 92-year-old billionaire businessman loves to indulge in the sweetest, fizziest and most oily foods out there.

The celebrated investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO munches on burgers, hot dogs and ice creams, as well as eating McDonald’s for breakfast and drinking five cans of Coke each day.

So, it should come as no surprise that some of the brands in Buffett’s investment portfolio includes some major food corporations, including See’s Candies, Dairy Queen, Coca-Cola and Kraft Heinz, giving a new meaning to 'you are what you eat'.

Buffett by name and buffet by nature, the billionaire has defended his eating habits.

We all remember being told to eat our veggies when we were children but this advice is completely ignored by Buffett.

In fact, he has often shared his disgust at vegetables and other healthy dishes during interviews, his yearly letters to shareholders and meetings.

Buffett has gone has gone far as claiming his diet, which he himself compared to that of a six-year-old, has kept him going for almost a century.

"I've gotten to 92 with the habits of a 6-year-old. So far, it's working,” he told CNBC this month.

“Charlie's [Munger] 99 and he doesn't eat any better than I do. I found everything I like to eat by the time I was six.

"Why should I fool around with all these other foods? If somebody told me I would live an extra year if I ate nothing but broccoli and a few other things all my life, I would say, ‘Take that year off the end of my life and let me eat what I like to eat.’"

He continued: “But I don’t really think it ’cause I think I think happiness makes an enormous amount of difference. And in terms of you can’t measure very well, in terms of longevity. And I’m happier when I’m eating hot fudge sundaes or drinking Coke or whatever it may hot dogs.”

Buffett, who famously loves McDonald's, told Fortune in 2015: "I'm one quarter Coca-Cola. If I eat 2,700 calories a day, a quarter of that is Coca-Cola. I drink at least five 12-ounce servings. I do it everyday. I have three Cokes during the day and two at night."

He also explained his secret to staying young, saying: "I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among 6-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a 6-year-old. It's the safest course I can take."

There you have it, folks! That's the secret.

Buffett became the world’s fifth richest man after carefully investing over several decades, building his own investment firm and forgoing a lavish billionaire lifestyle.

In fact, Buffett has remained in the same Nebraska home since the 1950s - which he purchased for a modest $31,500 (£25,000).

So, Buffett clearly loves comfort food and his familiar comfortable home and we love that for him.
