A TikTok star has been left fighting for her life following a hit-and-run crash that killed her college roommate.

Camryn Herriage, 23, from Dallas, was waiting at a set of red traffic lights in her car with her roommate and three other friends on 11 February, when they were hit by a pickup truck.

According to Fox 4 News, the impact of the crash caused a pile-up, injuring all five friends who were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Camryn and her roommate Sara were also best friends.

Sadly, Herriage's roommate and close friend Sara House died as a result of her injuries.

Camryn, who recently graduated from Texas Tech University, has been on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit with life-threatening injuries ever since the crash.

Her sister, Casie Campanello, who hasn't left her side while in the hospital, has hit out at the driver for "a careless act" that has "put us in a situation that changed all our lives."

She continued; "We are very helpless and just stay strong for her, but it's very difficult to see.

"When she came out of her first surgery, the surgeon told us he told us he never saw anyone make it to the hospital with her injury. So she has a purpose."

The accident took place just two blocks away from her sister's apartment, which left Campanello to ponder: "Makes me wonder if they weren’t there and how close they were to their home."

Witnesses recalled seeing a young woman who appeared "extremely intoxicated" fleeing the driver's side of the truck "wearing a small black dress and white clubbing shoes," according to an arrest affidavit.

She is now fighting for her life.

Police later identified the woman as Carmen Guerrero, whose wallet was found in the abandoned vehicle.

The 27-year-old is now being held in Dallas County Jail, where she faces several criminal charges, including manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Herriage and her roommate House would often appear in TikToks together, which they shared to Herriage's 35,000 followers.

House worked as a sales executive associate assistant at Ralph Lauren after graduating from college, where she studied business, management and marketing.

She was also passionate about fitness and loved competing in bikini competitions in her spare time.

Meanwhile, Herriage had begun working at a social media management and branding company based in North Texas as well as running her TikTok on the side.
