Jamie Lee Curtis took aim at Donald Trump as she reflected on Princess Diana and the global impact she had.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis appeared on the British breakfast show This Morning with the intention of promoting her new comedy drama film, Ella McCay, but couldn’t hold back on revealing her true feelings about the state of US politics.

Curtis spoke to the hosts and told them the story of how she almost meant the popular royal Princess Diana and what a great role model she felt she was. This eventually saw Curtis comparing the royals influence verses that of Donald Trump.

While filming the 1997 flick, Fierce Creatures, Curtis was delighted to hear that Diana and her young children, Prince William and Harry, were set to appear to the set.

The actress told that unfortunately she missed meeting the trio and ended sending Diana a letter and receiving one only a few days later.

Holding back tears, Curtis praised the royal for being an ‘extraordinary person’ and compared her influence as a public figure to those in politics in the US now.

She said: “What an example [Princess Diana was] , and look where I live and look at the example of the people leading my country, and the hatred they spew, and the way they treat people and the way they talk about people and look at the way she lived her life.”

Curtis went on to say she believes there will be an eventual pendulum swing away from the current state of US politics. She then went on to criticize Donald Trump more specifically for his behavior when engaging with people, most notably a female reporter who he called ‘piggy’.

The actress continued: “I think that his wagging his finger at a woman, calling her piggy... has woken us up to an unacceptable behavior that we cannot have be the legacy of the United States of America.

“I think that unhinged moment of his abuse and vile behaviour is going to be his undoing,”

The incident with the reporter occurred on November 14 and saw Trump berate Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey, who was one of the members of the press joining the POTUS on Air Force One.

While on the flight, Lucey asked if there was anything 'incriminating' in the latest release of Jeffrey Epstein emails, which left Trump clearly agitated.

Pointing in her face, Trump said: "Quiet. Quiet, piggy."

"You are the worst! You're with Bloomberg, right? You are the worst!" Trump snapped, adding: "I don't know why they even have you."

A White House official went on to defend this behavior from Trump and told PEOPLE: “This reporter behaved in an inappropriate and unprofessional way towards her colleagues on the plane.
