Donald Trump has shared a social media post lashing out at his critics right before he touched down in New York for his historic arraignment hearing on Tuesday.

He is expected to surrender himself to authorities on Tuesday (April 4) following his indictment by a grand jury.

According to NBC, Trump is facing about 30 charges related to document fraud connected to the hush money he allegedly paid to cover up his extra-marital affairs.

According to Rolling Stone, Trump was offered the option of surrendering quietly to authorities with an arraignment hearing held over Zoom.

Sources told Rolling Stone that instead the former US President instead chose a high-profile booking at the Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday.

Trump therefore boarded his Trump-branded private jet at around 12.30pm Florida time on Monday (April 3) with the destination set for New York.

While in the sky, the 45th president of the United States took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to update his followers.

Trump posted: "HEADING TO NEW YORK. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

He followed that up with a string of posts slamming those who moved to indict him.

"WITCH HUNT, as our once great Country is going to HELL," Trump posted, before adding: "AMERICA FIRST!"

His most recent post (at time of writing) included a call to action to his followers, asking them to donate money to his campaign.

"If you are doing poorly, as so many of you are, do not send anything. If you are doing well, which was made possible through the great policies of the Trump Administration, send your contribution to donaldjtrump.com," the post read.

Trump then added: "We have to take back our Country and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Yikes. Because Trump calling on people to take America back worked so well last time.

His Truth Social bio has a similarly provocative slogan.

"THEY’RE NOT COMING AFTER ME, THEY’RE COMING AFTER YOU—I’M JUST STANDING IN THEIR WAY," his bio reads.

The plane has since landed at New York’s LaGuardia airport around 3.30pm New York time, where the former US President was whisked into a dark-coloured SUVs that was waiting for him on the tarmac before heading off to Trump Tower in Manhattan.

According to CNN, Trump will spend the night in his penthouse at Trump Tower.

He is expected to meet with advisors and lawyers in his penthouse before he turns himself into authorities on Tuesday (April 4).

After his court arraignment he will return to his home in Florida.
