A TikTok user has publicly apologised after her hellish bout of diarrhea had a knock-on effect at the airport last summer.

In a series of grossly detailed clips, Meghan Reinertsen began by revealing to her followers how she'd 'single-handedly got a flight out of Indianapolis canceled' almost 12 months ago.

Meghan was traveling back to the States at the time, from Portugal, where she still works now as a live-in nanny.

The night before her lengthy journey though - she had two connecting flights on her way to Indianapolis, where she was attending a film premiere - she ate several bites of an undercooked burger.

This proved to be her downfall as Meghan was forced to spend the majority of one of her flights glued to the toilet, leading to frustrating consequences for fellow flyers that day.

"If that flight cancellation changed the trajectory of your life in a really negative way, I'm so sorry. It was not without pain and suffering - let me run you through the events of that day," she told the camera.

It was during her second plane ride of the morning, from Lisbon to Newark, that she was woken from a five-hour slumber by a 'disturbance deep within' her bowels.

Aware that 'something was brewing' that she was 'not prepared to deal with', Meghan thankfully made it through customs despite suffering serious stomach cramps.

On her Newark to Indianapolis connection, she proceeded to spend the first half an hour in 'agonising pain'.

"I've never felt anything like it in my life, I am just full-body sweating, I am crying," the TikToker recounted. "My insides are cramping, I can only imagine that that is what a contraction feels like."

Usually a staunch observer of the seatbelt signs, Meghan considered her situation an emergency and raced to the plane's bathroom while everyone else remained in their seats.

"For the next 20 minutes I have more diarrhea than any human should ever have in their life," she continued in her TikTok video.

"My bowels are just filling with water, releasing, filling with water - not water, diarrhea - releasing. It is now at a point where I go, 'I'm about to throw up!' But I'm in a 2x2 shoebox broom closet."

Meghan went on to elaborate: "In my panic I rip open the airplane bathroom door and I just yell into the plane, 'I NEED HELP! I NEED HELP!'

"A flight attendant comes out from behind a curtain, she literally goes 'What do you need?' and I ask for a barf bag."

This horrendously poorly traveller spent the next 90 minutes chundering out of both ends, and such was the severity of her situation, the pilot gave Meghan clearance to stay in the toilet for landing.

"We've landed and I'm still going," she noted in a second video.

According to Meghan, all of the other passengers had disembarked from the aircraft by the time she popped her head out of the bathroom again, where an air hostess revealed that the next scheduled flight was canceled.

"In the moment I'm not thinking that's because of me, OK, because I'm like 'What a gorgeous coincidence!'" she admitted.

When she'd finally stopped pooping, the cabin crew wheeled her off the flight to baggage claim because she was so energy-sapped.
