Delta passengers accused of taking their revenge against the airline too far after their flight was delayed

The TikToker saw an opportunity to get his money back and he took it

A pair of Delta customers who allegedly lost out on 'thousands' of dollars while delayed for 'days' sparked debate after deciding to get their own back.

Airport lounges are usually just a means to an end; a place to sit down, have a coffee and generally wile away the hours while you wait for your flight.

That's probably exactly how Delta customer Kyle Philippi would have treated the airline's Sky Club on a recent trip, if he hadn't been hit by 'days' of delays.

When that happened, Philippi began to view the lounge - and all it had to offer -as a mission to be accomplished.

In a now-viral post shared on TikTok, Philippi claimed Delta would not be compensating him for the 'thousands' of dollars he 'lost' while waiting for his flight, so he attempted to 'get it back in the Sky Club'.

Soundtracked by the AC/DCs 'Thunderstruck', Philippi and the man he was traveling with then set about consuming pretty much everything the Sky Club had to offer.

Footage shows them tucking in to ribs, stocking up on Cheez-Its and even getting glasses of wine from the bar just to tip it straight into the trash.

They collected all the magazines, squeezed out every drop of hand sanitizer and even ran the shower in the Club without even stepping into the water.

There was popcorn, coffee, a soda machine, cookies and more, and the two men made sure to get their hands on absolutely all of it.

I'm not sure if it was thousands of dollars' worth, but it was definitely more than two people would usually consume while waiting for a flight.

Philippi documented the whole thing and shared the video, titled 'Delta Vengeance', on TikTok, but some viewers indicated the pair might have taken things a little too far.

"My jaw dropped when i saw wine being wasted," one person commented.

Another questioned: "But did you have flight insurance?"

While there were definitely some wasteful aspects of the mission, most people were actually appreciative of Philippi's reaction after he shared the video.

"Pouring the wine out had me hollering," one fan commented, as another added: "This is why I keep ziploc bags on me at all times. I WILL be getting my moneys worth."

"The epitome of not all heroes wear capes. Go get 'em boys!," wrote a third.

As it turns out, even Philippi's travel companion seemed to acknowledge the pair had gone too far in a follow-up video in which he admitted he felt unwell after going hard in the lounge.

It's unclear when Philippi's delay took place, or how many days he was actually delayed for, but the mission appeared to coincide with the Microsoft outage which prompted hundreds of flights across the US to be canceled.

Delta took longer than some other airlines to recover from the tech issues, prompting the Department of Transportation to open an investigation into the incident.

On Monday (22 July), Delta issued a 'right to a refund upon request' for customers as the Department of Transportation urged airlines to offer money back to affected customers.

UNILAD has contacted Philippi and Delta Airlines for comment.
