Mom shocked by child's office toy that she calls 'baby’s first cubicle'

There are so many brilliant toys to choose from when browsing for your children that it can be difficult to find something that stands out.

But after taking home something that looked innocent enough, one mum found out that her purchase wasn’t what she initially thought and was instead the ultimate capitalist’s dream toy.

Now, she’s got some questions for the internet.

Taking to TikTok to share her bewilderment about Mattel’s Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Like a Boss Activity Center, the mom showed viewers a few key features of the toy, and it’s unexpected.

The mom, who goes by @stealth_revenger on TikTok, bought the activity toy which is meant to create a little office environment for your children.

At $109.99 on Amazon, the toy comes with a range of different supplies to make it realistic.

The mother began in the video: “I didn’t pay attention to what I was buying. I don’t know what they call it, but I call it 'baby’s first cubicle'.”

Showing off the strange toy, you can see typical office supplies that you’d find at work, such as Post-it notes, a tape dispenser and a calendar.

There’s also a computer which has buttons like a keyboard that can be pressed to say certain phrases.

The mom pressed one of the buttons to show her viewers and immediately, a child’s voice recording began playing, saying: “Per my last email, let’s pencil in some playtime.”

After pressing another button, the recording said: “Let’s circle back to that. I love circles.”

The toy looks to be like a cross between a bouncer seat and a circle activity table where the child can sit in the middle and play with all of the toys around them.

In the caption, the mom wrote: “Capitalism is really popping off today! @Fisher-Price put the millenials in time out. They don’t get to make toys anymore. This is giving me flashbacks to my cubicle days but you got me with the #wfh ditty.”

Since posting the clip to TikTok, many people took to the comment sections to express their shock about a toy like this existing for babies.

One person wrote: “If my toddler tells me to circle back to something I’m gonna lose it," while someone else joked: “This is a cry for help. Someone check on the Fisher-Price office workers. They are NOT okay.”

However, others thought that a toy like this had more sinister notes.

One person wrote: “This is the real dystopia. Sweet lord.”

As another agreed: “This is DARK. Hilarious, but DARK.”

But others found the funny side of it all: “When Gen Z is refusing corporate life so they’re trying to get gen alpha early.”

Though the mother found the toy funny, according to a comment, it turns out she ended up selling the Fisher-Price toy on Facebook Marketplace, but it took ‘so long’ to find a willing buyer of the strange office table.
