Travis Kelce has spoken out as to what went wrong at Super Bowl LIX after his Kansas City Chiefs side missed out on a third successive crown.

Kelce and his fellow teammates were hoping to make Super Bowl history on Sunday (February), but ultimately fell to a heavy defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40 to 22 in New Orleans, making it a bad day at the office for Kelce.

The tight end has been speaking to the press following his team's defeat, admitting a 'lot of things were going wrong'.

As per KMBC, he told reporters pitch side in New Orleans: "I think there were a lot of things going wrong. The whole night, it was an accumulative of everything. It's going to hurt."

There was speculation prior to the big match as to whether the 2025 Super Bowl would be Kelce's final NFL match, though he seemed to put them rumors to bed during a press conference earlier this month.

Speaking on February 3, Kelce was asked where he sees himself in three years. He replied: "Hopefully still playing football. I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I still got a lot of good football left in me."

He continued: "We'll see what happens. I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That's always been the goal, knowing that football only lasts for so long."

Before adding: "For the most part, I'm planning on being a Kansas City Chief and playing football."

Following the conclusion of the Super Bowl, Kelce was spotted looking very emotional following brutal Eagles defeat.

His partner, Taylor Swift, didn't have a much better night either, as she was booed by NFL fans after she appeared on the big screen.

The 'Blank Space' was in town cheering on Kelce as his team disappointed in the biggest game of the NFL season.

A large numbers of spectators in the Caesars Superdome booed Swift as the camera panned to the singer and she was subsequently shown on the big screen.

Swift appeared to mouth 'What is going on?' to friend and rapper Ice Spice, who sat with her during the game.

Donald Trump even got involved, penning on his Truth Social account: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"
