President Donald Trump has savagely trolled Taylor Swift after the singer was booed during the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LIX will certainly go down as a classic as the Philadelphia Eagles beat Kansas City Chiefs by 40 to 22 in New Orleans.

Swift was in town cheering on boyfriend Kelce as his team missed out on a third successive Super Bowl triumph.

When the camera panned to Swift and she was subsequently shown on the big screen in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, a large portion of the 75,000 strong crowd started jeering.

The 'Shake It Off' singer appeared to mouth 'What is going on?' to friend and rapper Ice Spice, who accompanied her to the game.

Now, Trump, who was in attendance for the biggest NFL game of the season, has taken to his Truth Social account to provide his take on the booing.

The 47th POTUS said: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"

Trump also shared a video of himself watching on at the Super Bowl, which also sharing a post from the 'Libs of TikTok' account that stated the 'world is healing' after Trump got applause at the event, while Swift was jeered.

Why was Taylor Swift booed at the Super Bowl?

While the president has provided his views, many celebrities and fans have taken to Twitter to defend Swift.

"I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!" former tennis star Serena Williams wrote on the social media platform.

Hundreds of people commented on the post while watching the action in New Orleans on Sunday (February 9).

One fan said: "Eagles fans are booing her. She’s originally from Philly area but obviously rooting for Travis and Chiefs."

Another user commented: "The booos are from Eagles fans aka the opposite team she supports this is normal."

While a third penned: "Grown a** men booing Taylor Swift seriously get a grip."

Trump's recent Truth Social comments should hardly come as a surprise considering the president and the singer have a bit of history.

During his presidential campaign last year, Trump simply wrote: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"

His post came after the singer urged her fans to use their vote any way they would like, while also informing them she would be voting for Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
