A journalist's live report on a hit-and-run was caught on camera being interrupted by yet another crash.

On Thursday, March 10, Gene Kang was reporting live for CW-affiliated television station KTLA about a recent deadly collision when another crash took place right behind him.

The road, located in South Los Angeles, is reported as being 'one of the most dangerous streets' in the city.

In the recording, just as Kang can be heard explaining that Hoover Street is considered 'one of the most dangerous' roads by officials, the skid and screech of tires can be heard as a car soars into the shot and the road behind him, The Independent reports.

After flying into a car on the main road, the initial vehicle can be seen veering off into the pavement as a result of the hit.

However, as it goes over the pavement and back onto another road, its occupant carries on driving, leaving Kang to state: 'Yeah, just more evidence as to how scary it is here on Hooper Street.'

The reporter noted that the crew had called 911 after seeing the crash.

'We did call 911. The police came out here to help those victims out there. Fortunately they were not hurt, but are very much in shock. Pretty terrifying,' he said.

According to KTLA, it is unclear if the driver of the first vehicle stopped and turned back after initially speeding away.

However, a licence plate that fell off the car during the collision was picked up by police.

Kang was at the scene to report on a hit-and-run that took the life of a 42-year-old man on February 26.

The father-of-one was crossing the road with his family when an 'impatient' driver decided to overtake the cars in front of them.

The family were being aided by a crossing guard who was carrying a stop sign and wearing a bright yellow vest, but the car continued to speed towards them.

The father is reported as having pushed his wife and two-year-old son out of harm's way. After being hit by the vehicle, he died in hospital later that day.

A reward of $50,000 is now being offered to members of the community in the hopes of being able to locate, arrest and subsequently convict the driver.
