People are gobsmacked at Trump’s latest disturbing comments about Russia amid WW3 fears

The comments come as the federal Judiciary warns it suffered 'persistent' cyberattacks on its system

Donald Trump stunned people as he appeared to brush off Russia's potential involvement in a cyberattack amid growing World War Three fears.

President Trump is preparing to come face-to-face with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday (August 15) at a US military base in Alaska.

It is anticipated Russia's ongoing conflict with Ukraine will be a topic of discussion, particularly as the POTUS told Moscow to agree to peace or face severe sanctions in the form of US tariffs with a 'deadline' of August 8.

Yet while the tense high-profile meeting is inching closer by the minute and anxieties around WW3 increasing, the president has left US citizens gobsmacked after appearing to shrug off a potential Russian attack.

Earlier this month, the United States Courts announced it had strengthened its cybersecurity measures in light of 'sophisticated and persistent' attacks on the federal judiciary case management system.

According to a report in The New York Times, investigators later uncovered Russian intelligence and possibly other countries could have been behind the hack that they described as a years-long effort.

Trump was then asked while taking questions from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday (August 13) if he was planning on 'bringing up' the bombshell report in his meeting with Putin.

"I guess I could," the POTUS replied. "But are you surprised?"

With a slight laugh, he reiterated: "Are you surprised? They hack in, that's what they do. They're good at it, we're good at it, we're actually better at it.

"I have heard about it," he concluded before moving on to take other questions.

Dozens have since been left stumped by his response, as one said on Reddit: "What the f***ing f***?"

A second added: "Utter dereliction of duty," while many more said the felt Trump doesn't care for the nation's security.

"Good God, it's your literal job to defend against such attacks," another penned. "But no, the Pentagon cut it's anti Russian cyber ops, and now the President's response to an inevitable attack is 'Are you surprised? It's what they do'."

"The USA is defenseless," echoed another concerned resident.

Fears of all-out war have been ramping up, aggravated when Trump announced he had moved nuclear submarines to the 'appropriate regions' following a heated exchange of words with the former Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, on social media.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia taunted that 'each new ultimatum [from Trump] is a threat and a step towards war'.

Trump's apparent blasé attitude to the breach also comes as the New York Times report suggested a Russian entity had compromised sealed federal court documents, which includes highly sensitive records with sources and names of people charged with national security crimes.

“Some of the searches included midlevel criminal cases in the New York City area and several other jurisdictions, with some cases involving people with Russian and Eastern European surnames,” the outlet reported and added that the Justice Department had issued a similar warning back in 2021 when the system was first infiltrated.
