Donald Trump has taken to Truth Social to hit out at Ukraine after he outlined a 28-point peace plan.

Ukraine and Russia have been embroiled in a devastating war since February 2022 and Trump has long pledged that he would resolve the conflict.

In June, The Guardian reported that one million Russian soldiers had been killed or injured in the ongoing conflict, while nearly 400,000 Ukrainians were said to have lost their lives.

With these harrowing figures in mind, heads of state from across the globe have been calling for an end to the war and Trump has recently outlined a peace deal that he wants Ukraine to agree to by November 27.

Part of the deal calls for Ukraine to give up areas of the Donbas region to Russia, allow Russia to be 'reintegrated into the global economy' after years of sanctions, and for Ukraine to reduce its army to 600,000 personnel.

US diplomats have sat down with Ukrainian officials in Geneva today (November 23) to discuss the plan. As the summit goes on, Trump — who is not in Switzerland himself for the important talks — has taken to Truth Social to berate Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for not being more thankful to America.

Trump raged: "I INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A LOSER FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE SO NEEDLESSLY DIED. UKRAINE 'LEADERSHIP' HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA."

He went on: "THE USA CONTINUES TO SELL MASSIVE $AMOUNTS OF WEAPONS TO NATO, FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UKRAINE (CROOKED JOE GAVE EVERYTHING, FREE, FREE, FREE, INCLUDING 'BIG' MONEY!). GOD BLESS ALL THE LIVES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE HUMAN CATASTROPHE!"

His sentiments are similar to what Vice President JD Vance said to Zelenskyy in February during a very heated meeting at the White House.

After Trump accused Zelenskyy of 'gambling with World War 3', Vance said: "I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media. You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict."

While Zelenskyy was given a November 27 deadline, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz isn't convinced a deal will be met by then.

"I wouldn’t say pessimistic, but I’m not convinced that the solution wanted by President Trump will be reached in the next few days," he said, via CNN.

Merz added: "Today is Sunday. President Trump’s plan is to reach an agreement on Thursday. We are still very far from that."
