There's one sex position which causes '50 percent of penis fractures' which you should probably steer clear of.

A doctor has spoken out in warning against the 'most dangerous sex position according to science'.

If you're more of a pleasure seeker than thrill seeker, then you'll want to rule this one out. Prepare to wince as you take this in.

Dr Karan Raj took to TikTok a couple of years ago to warn followers about the next time they decide to have a rendezvous in the bedroom.

The doctor explains there's one position in particular where if 'there is any erratic thrusting or if the movements of the two parties are not in sync' it could lead to a trip to the emergency room.

Why? Because if the rhythm is off, the male parts could 'slip out' and end up 'crushed' by the female public bone. Ouch.

"Despite being boneless, penises can break," the doctor continues. "A penile fracture is a tear in the tunica albuginea. This is a rubbery sheath of tissue that allows the penis to enlarge in width and length during an erection."

But what is this horrifying sex position - which allegedly accounts for an eye-watering '50 percent of penile fractures' - that's probably best to avoid?

There's one sex position you should probably err on the side of caution trying.

Well, the likelihood is many people have actually been doing it already, but have just never realised the potential danger they're putting themselves in.

Drum roll please.... It's the 'Reverse Cowgirl'.

And Dr Raj warns if you do dare try the position and end up breaking your 'snu snu,' then your penis could end up looking like an aubergine. Delightful.

And the position hasn't just been warned about by Dr Raj either.

A 2014 study published in the Advances in Urology medical journal looked at the 'potential risk factors related to penile fracture occurence'.

It discovered heterosexual intercourse was the 'most common cause of fracture' and the specific sex position? Well, 'woman on top' - most people normally opting for cowgirl or reverse cowgirl, unless you like getting really experimental in the bedroom.

And you'll definitely know if it happens to you, either because of the sheer pain of the incident, a 'popping or cracking sound,' 'rapid loss of erection,' 'swelling' or 'discoloration of the penile shaft,' according to the Mayo Clinic.

"Left untreated, a penis fracture might result in a curved penis or the permanent inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for sex (erectile dysfunction)," it added.

Oh, and it's not just cowgirl style you have to worry about either, a 2018 study in the International Journal of Impotence Research resolving doggy style is also dangerous, accounting for 41 percent of penile fracture cases.

Well, merry Christmas and a happy new year with lots of penis-safe sex! Or maybe you should just take a leaf out of one woman's book and start having 'erotic' relationships with trees instead.
