There's a new world record holder for the most consecutive trips to Disneyland.

Turns out there really is a Guinness World Record for absolutely everything, including fulfilling all your greatest childhood fantasies and going to Disneyland every single day.

However, if you went as many times as Jeff Reitz did, would it still feel as magical each time?

The 50-year-old from Huntingdon Beach, California, has opened up about how it feels to be the proud Guinness World Record holder for the most consecutive trips to Disneyland, but just how many times did he visit?

In 2012, Reitz found himself unemployed. Bored of searching endlessly for work and in need of getting out-and-about away from the house - as well as being a huge Disney fan of course - Reitz decided to make the absolute most of a Disneyland annual pass he'd been gifted and visit the resort in South California every single day.

The 50-year-old kept track of each visit via a blog as well as his Facebook and Instagram pages and made sure his visits were logged by the resort, visiting Disneyland's city hall whenever the system went down.

Reitz also set himself a goal number of trips to achieve.

Reitz's goal was to visit Disneyland a whopping 3,000 days in a row.

While he didn't quite manage his objective - the coronavirus pandemic throwing a spanner in the works - the 50-year-old still achieved an impressive 2,995 visits which means he visited the resort every single day for a mega eight years, three months and 13 days.

Reitz explained to the Los Angeles Times he wasn't 'actively going for a Guinness World Record all eight years' but was 'keeping track of' his progress.

Subsequently, when the Disney fan was contacted by Guinness World Record last week, he was 'shocked'.

"It was just wild how it all happened," he added.

Reitz's feat may just seem like a bit of fun, but it required significant planning, especially when the 50-year-old found a job.

He was so dedicated to the challenge he'd set himself, he even took days off work to visit the resort.

He told SFGate: "Sometimes I would just go and walk around and do photography. It wasn’t always about getting on the attractions depending on what was going on.

"Why not walk around and enjoy the sights and sounds at Disneyland and the fireworks overhead instead of just walking around a track or on a treadmill inside?"

Question is, can visiting Disneyland every single day put you off Disney?

The magic of the resort is still there for Reitz despite his multitude of visits.

It may for some of us, but not for Reitz, as although he's no longer got a season ticket, the 50-year-old still visits the park to this day - albeit without the pressure of having to break a world record which it's unlikely anyone else will be break anytime soon.
