Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry have long reigned as the classic ice cream trio, but a new unexpected contender has just hit the market.
Earlier this year, ice cream brand OddFellows and parenting company Frida joined forces to create a 'breast milk' ice cream.
According to ABC News, this collaboration was to celebrate the release of Frida's 2-in-1 Manual Breast Pump.
In March, Frida announced the ice cream's production, writing in a press release: "We’ve been obsessed with feeding babies forever. And while developing our newest pump, we dove deep into the world of breastmilk."

They added that stories of people trying breast milk also influenced them, and this week, a 23-year-old woman opened up about how selling her breast milk to bodybuilders has become a lucrative business venture, cashing in over $3,500 in the process.
Now, OddFellow's 'breast milk' ice cream is on the market for consumption - but only for a limited time.

The frozen confection is available now until August 10 at OddFellows’ New York City pop-up and on Frida’s website.

The main ingredients are more or less what you would find in a standard ice cream tub, like milk, heavy cream, skim milk powder, egg yolks and sugar.
However, while the ice cream isn't made of actual breast milk, rather its star ingredient is something called liposomal bovine colostrum, which, as you've likely guessed by the name, is from cows, not humans.
But colostrum is present in human breast milk, with the Cleveland Clinic saying that it is vital for developing a baby's immune system and usually develops during pregnancy.
It is also rich in antibodies and nutrients, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say.

So, how does it taste?
“Sweet, nutty and a hint of salt,” the press release says. “And swirled with rich, creamy fat.”
Consuming breast milk past infancy is something that has come up a few times before; namely, a few celebrities have previously admitted to chugging it.

After the birth of her and Travis Barker's son, Rocky, Kourtney Kardashian admitted to drinking some of her milk while breastfeeding her son, as she wrote on her Instagram Story in April: "I just pounded a glass of breast milk because I feel sick.
"Goodnight!"
Meanwhile, Ashley Roberts from The Pussycat Dolls once admitted on Good Morning Britain that she'd tried her friend's breast milk after hearing that there were 'a lot of nutrients in it', and described the taste as being like 'sweet almond milk'.
As for whether it is safe, there are a few risks to drinking breast milk; however, OB-GYN Dr. Sherry Ross told E! News that it is generally fine so long as it is stored correctly and the drinker is in good health.

"Breast milk is rich in nutrients, vitamins and protective anti-bacterial and inflammatory properties," she added.
