Massive fire breaks out at Warner Bros. Studios in LA

A fire has broken out at the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, California

A fire has broken out at the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, California.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fire broke out after reports of an explosion sound shortly before 2pm today (Friday 30 June), with a source saying it is not believed to have been a deliberate act.

It is reported that power went out, at least partially, on site.

A spokesperson for the Burbank Fire Department confirmed its force responded to a fire but did not yet have further information.

Videos and images posted on social media showed dark smoke billowing from the lot, with one person writing: "Bad fire happening on the Warner Bros lot."

Sharing footage from another angle, radio DJ Ted Stryker said: "Hope everyone is safe…. I think that’s the Warner Bros lot.

"Our lights flickered here at @ALT987fm."

Someone else tweeted: "Fire at the Warner Bros. lot down the street in Burbank. We had a power surge at work, and that’s probably why."

The fire was also reported on the Citizen app, where another video of the smoke was posted with a caption that said: “Firefighters report a burning transformer and are working to contain the blaze.”

It added: “Firefighters report that a power outage has occurred after an explosive sound.”
