Horrifying new details have emerged after a teacher was charged for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student and allegedly having a baby with him.

Laura Caron, 34, had worked at Middle Township Elementary School in South Jersey, US as a fifth grade teacher for the past 11 years before being arrested earlier this month.

The teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a boy inside her home from 2016 to 2020, which allegedly began when the student was 11-years-old.

Following Caron's arrest, Middle Township School District Superintendent Dr. David Salvo said in a statement: "When the district was first advised of the allegations, the staff member was immediately placed on and continues to be on paid administrative leave."

The allegations against Caron came to fruition after a social media post from the victim's father in December 2024 claimed the teacher's child, who was born in 2019, looked awfully similar to him and his son.

John Tumelty, Canon's attorney, has claimed there's no evidence Caron's five-year-old daughter is related to the victim.

"And only after the arrest, they get search warrants for her DNA," the attorney said. "They got the victim's DNA, voluntarily from him, and they have a search warrant for my client's five-year-old daughter for her DNA.

"And that will take months for that evidence, that biological evidence, to be obtained, sent to the lab, and processed."

The parents of the victim allegedly told officials they became friends with Caron to the point where their children stayed with her permanently from 2016 to 2020, as per court documents.

It was in 2019 when Caron gave birth to a baby girl, with friend Darlene Dowless telling the New York Post: "She had a baby shower. She was happy about it.

“But she didn’t identify who the father was, at least not to me. She just said that he wouldn’t be involved and was out of the picture.”

On January 15, Caron was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

The boy, who remains unidentified and is now between 19 and 20-years-old, according to the New York Post, told officials he had a sexual relationship with his former teacher and is the father of her child.

When living with Caron, the boy's sister claims she remembers going to bed with her brother in the same room to wake up with him sleeping in Caron's bed.

Authorities say she claims her brother began sleeping with the teacher when he was 11.

If you’ve been affected by any of these issues or want to speak to someone in confidence regarding the welfare of a child, the Childhelp USA National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and receives calls from throughout the United States, Canada, US Virgin Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico.
