College Graduate Reveals Sorority Ranking System That Pitted Students Against Each Other

A college graduate has exposed her old sorority group's 'disgusting' ranking system.

A college graduate has exposed her old sorority group's 'disgusting' ranking system.

TikToker Eli Rallo has taken to the platform to give an impression of what it was like being part of a sorority at an American university.

Since Rallo uploaded the footage in February, the video has gone viral, amassing more than one million views and 200,000 likes.

Rallo revealed an email she says she received in relation to the 'Rush' – sorority recruitment process – which instructs members on how to rank other girls in the group.

She said: "If you pretend not to know about the toxicity of Greek life, specifically sorority rush, I found this email from when I was in Greek life."

Reading parts of the email out, Rallo reflected: "You have a five minute conversation with her then you have to rank her one out of four – one, she’s never coming back, four, she’s great – based on a five minute conversation. Makes sense, right? That’s totally fair."

The Freshman rankings go from 'Don't ever want to see them again' to 'You will drop the sorority and cry forever if you do not see them on bid day'.

Sophomores can be rated as 'Weird, average or "just nice",' to 'They are an amazing girl and would be involved and friends with everyone'.

However, a second set ranking begins with, 'Not sure how she still got through get her out now', to 'Must get [blanked out name]'s approval before giving this score'.

The TikToker joked that she was 'definitely an average sophomore' and clarified that she thought the whole sorority was 'so heinous'.

She claimed members were required to meet up in groups to discuss and rank the new girls together and that you had to get 'two people in the sorority's approval before you could give them a score'.

Rallo says she was charged '$100 per round' if she didn't go to the ranking meetings, and so just 'tried to sabotage' the scores when she did go.

She resolved: "I lived to sabotage. This [the Rush sheet] is a nightmare. It's disgusting. It is the ultimate way to pit women against one another. To judge them for the most arbitrary things. This is misogynistic, it's fat phobic, it's classist. It's so many horrible things. I can't believe it was in my email. Why does this exist, why does Greek life exist?"
