A Canadian company is on the hunt for Chief Candy Officer, who will be tasked with tasting all manner of sweet treats and earn themselves an impressive salary. Hold on, I’m just booking my flights to Canada.

Online sweet shop Candy Funhouse is offering $100,000 a year (£65,019/US$77,751) to the lucky candydate (see what I did there?) who lands themselves the enviable role, which involves tasting new products and ‘being in charge of all things fun’.

The job listing reads: "Do you love all things candy and chocolate? Are you passionate about confectionary treats and exploring unreleased and existing products? If so, this is the PERFECT position for you!

“We are looking for the world’s first and only Chief Candy Officer! This opportunity is work-from-home with the option to work out of either Toronto, Canada (Canadian Residents) or Newark, New Jersey (American Residents), paying up to $100,000 annually to lead the “FUNhouse” Candy Strategy. This includes approving all candy in inventory and deciding whether or not to award each treat with the official ‘CCO (Chief Candy Officer) Stamp of Approval’.

“Being the Chief Candy Officer at Candy Funhouse is much more than just fun and games, it’s serious candy business! The Chief Candy Officer will be responsible for deciding which new candy products Candy Funhouse will be carrying, leading candy board meetings, being the head taste tester, and taking charge on all things fun!”

Applicants don’t need any prior professional sweetie munching experience, but as you can probably guess, an interest and a like for sweets is an essential, alongside a ‘creative mind’, ‘golden taste buds’ and excellent communication skills.

You’ll need to be free of food allergies and ready to try more than 3,500 products on a monthly basis. You should also ‘know how to have fun’, according to the ad - but given the amount of sugar coursing through your veins, I'm sure that won’t be an issue.

Speaking of sugar, you might be interested to learn that the position comes with an ‘extensive dental plan’.

The role is open to anyone living in North America who is aged five or over.

If you’re keen, you can apply here - CandyFunhouse will close applications on 31 August.
