Candace Owens threatens to sue George Floyd’s family for suing Kanye West

She says the Floyd family's $250 million lawsuit against Ye is nothing but a 'publicity stunt' and she's fighting fire with fire.

Candace Owens has hit out against George Floyd's family for suing Kanye West.

The mother of Floyd's child is preparing a defamation lawsuit with The Witherspoon Law Group against the rapper after he claimed the man who inspired a resurgence in the Black Lives Matter movement died from fentanyl rather than police brutality.

The lawsuit is against 'Ye West, also known as Kanye West, his business partners, and associates, for harassment misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress seeking $250 million dollars in damages'.

The lawsuit accuses West of having made 'blatantly false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates'.

The filing also brands West's comments as 'malicious falsehoods' said to 'profit from Mr Floyd's horrendous death and his family's trauma'.

Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker ruled the fentanyl found in Floyd's system and the 46-year-old's heart disease were contributing factors to his death but not direct causes.

Kanye's comments about Floyd on N.O.R.E.’s Drink Champs podcast came shortly after he attended the premiere of Candace Owen's documentary called The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.

So this story really has come full circle.

Owens believes Floyd's family's lawsuit is nothing but a 'publicity stunt'.

According to Yahoo News and Mediaite, the right-wing commentator ripped into the situation on her podcast.

“I’m also sick of frivolous lawsuits," she said.

"You know, if this is actually considered credible — if you can sue somebody because you’re feeling ’emotionally distressed’ because of them going out and saying things — well then I think that I have grounds to sue George Floyd’s estate."

She added: “I have grounds to sue George Floyd’s family for doing this little PR stunt.

"It’s causing me a ton of distress.

“I feel angry and I feel upset with the fact that I am fighting for Black America to be freed from the lies, while these people are fighting to keep them in the dark.”

She added that she should even be able to sue 'the media' because she thinks they are 'colluding with George Floyd’s family so that they can bury the evidence'.

Owens supported Kanye West at the Paris fashion show where he controversially debuted his White Lives Matter t-shirts.

She uploaded a photo of her standing next to the rapper with a matching top.

The commentator told her podcast followers that she's dead serious about her potential lawsuit.

“This is unacceptable. I’m serious,” she said.

“I’m going to go out and I’m going to ask lawyers ‘If this is legitimate, can I sue George Floyd’s family?’ Because I should be able to.”

UNILAD has reached out to The Witherspoon Law Group to get a comment about Owens' potential lawsuit.
