*NSYNC have reunited and are set to release their first song in two decades, with the news released just hours after they appeared at the MTV VMA's together.

Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass are reforming to release a new track titled Better Place for the upcoming movie Trolls 3: Trolls Band Together. You can hear a snippet of the song here:

Rumors have been swirling about a reunion for several weeks and these were amped up after the band appeared on stage together at the VMA’s this week, where they presented Taylor Swift with the award for Best Pop Video.

However, in fairness it appeared that Swift was more excited about the band being back together than her award as she was seen standing up from her seat, screaming and cheering for them – seemingly in total disbelief they were together.

Swift also seemed to suspect that the band were up to something, asking the men: “Are you doing something? What’s going to happen now?”

She just couldn’t cope as she said to the crowd of music fans and celebrities: “They’re doing something and I need to know what it is.”

Speculation about a new song was further teased by the fivesome when they shared a clip in which they lip-synced a Friends scene, in which Joey Tribbiani and Rachel Green slyly question each other.

Timberlake could be seen lip-syncing to Joey’s line: "Do you know something?" In response, Chasez, chimed in with Rachel saying, "I might know something, too.”

Bass then asked: "What's the thing you know?" to which Timberlake responded, "Oh no, I can't tell you until you tell me what you know."

The clip ends with Kirkpatrick mouthing: “Well, then I can't tell you what I know."

Prompting Chasez to shrug his shoulders and lip-sync: “OK, fine.”

As you can imagine, fans of the band were pretty excited about the news, with one taking to X to say: “September 29, 2023 - *NSYNC will release a new song called Better Place. Read that. Then read that again. Let it sink in.”

While someone else added: “new *NSYNC song… for the first time in 20 years… coming out three days after my birthday God is real?”

Better Place will be the first time *NSYNC has released music since 2002 - you can hear it for yourself on September 29 when it becomes available to download or stream, while Trolls 3: Trolls Band Together is released on November 17.
