Lizzo has spoken out after Kanye West made comments about her body and said she was being indirectly used to promote a ‘genocide of the Black race’.

The 34-year-old hitmaker responded to the wild remarks from Ye, 45, during her concert at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Friday (7 October).

The ‘Bound 2’ rapper – who was recently pictured wearing a White Lives Matter T-shirt during Paris Fashion Week – spoke about his odd garment with Fox news host Tucker Carlson.

The topic soon switched to the ‘About Damn Time’ singer, when West claimed that any time Lizzo share a post on social media bots ‘attack’ Lizzo for posting about losing weight.

Ye discussed his thoughts on the ‘demonic’ promotion of obesity in the media, which he likened to part of the ‘genocide of the Black race'.

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots … on Instagram, they attack her losing weight, because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy,” Ye said during his Tucker Carlson Tonight interview.

Lizzo – who is a known advocate of body positivity – did not hold back in her response, despite not mentioning the father-of-four by name. “I feel like everybody in America got my mother******* name in [their] mother******* mouth for no mother******* reason,” she told concertgoers, who cheered and applauded as she spoke.

This is not the first time the Grammy-winner has had to respond to a man’s unsolicited comments about her body.

In August during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, Lizzo shared an unsubtle jab back at comedian Aries Spears, who made fatphobic comments about her during an interview with The Art of Dialogue.

“I can’t get past the fact that she looks like the s— emoji,” he said during a discussion about whether he thought the chart-topping singer-songwriter was good at her craft.

During her acceptance speech for the Video for Good award for her hit ‘About Damn Time', Lizzo yelled: “And now, to the b****es that got something to say about me in the press.”

After seemingly referencing Nicki Minaj’s infamous quip towards Miley Cyrus in 2015, Lizzo continued: “You know what, I’m not gonna say nothing.”

Lizzo then joked about potentially moving to Canada, which the crowd were totally in support of.

“Can I stay here [in Canada]?' she said jokingly, adding: “Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”
