Unsolved Mysteries could be a step closer to solving one of its cases thanks to the numerous tips from viewers which are still pouring in.

Executive producer Terry Dunn Meurer said her team has provided law enforcement with over 90 tips about Tammy Williams, the prime suspect in the murder case of David Carter.

Carter was found dismembered along a highway in Ohio in 2018 with a single gunshot wound to the head.

He went missing after attending his son DJ’s football game on 28th September 2018, where he was last seen.

DJ’s mother Samia Conner told Unsolved Mysteries: “David and Tammy came to the game together, but weren't together at the game.”

DJ had planned to stay with his father at his house, but Connor allegedly received a message from Carter’s phone which said he was unwell. When DJ visited his dad’s house he claimed to have seen Williams taking out the trash.

“She ran to the apartment door – like ran,” DJ said in the Netflix docu-series.

“And when I got to my dad's house, the door was locked. You'd have thought since she saw me, she'd have left it unlocked but I had a key."

Carter’s family went to his apartment where they reportedly found the door unlocked and a large bloodstain underneath the bed and on the mattress - where a hole from a gunshot could be seen.

Williams was arrested in Michigan on 5 October but was released by authorities due to a lack of evidence needed to press charges. She left the state soon after and hasn’t been seen ever again.

Now, TMZ has reported Meurer’s team has been able to assist in finding out more information regarding the case by providing tips from viewers.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Allen, the U.S. Marshals Supervisory Deputy, confirmed to the publication that the tips suggest Williams is still in the U.S.

Williams once worked as a travel agent – meaning she’d likely be able to know how to escape home soil undetected – which might explain why she’s been able to avoid capture for so long, according to Allen.

Williams is currently wanted by the US Department of Justice. She also previously worked at a medical centre and had been dating factory worker Carter for six months before he went missing.
