Millie Bobby Brown Didn't Actually Shave Her Head For Stranger Things Season 4

A fair few surprises have come out of Stranger Things season four, including Eleven's hair.

A fair few surprises have come out of Stranger Things season four, including Eleven's hair.

Volume one of the new season was released to Netflix on 27 May and saw a staggering amount of views.

Although the new series has multiple plotlines, it has everyone wondering the same things: did Kate Bush's songs always slap? Is the kids' counsellor a villain? And did Millie Bobby Brown shave her head?

Well, the answers to those questions are yes, maybe, and no.

Stylist Sarah Hindsgaul shared footage of the Eleven actress, hair very much still intact, getting into her buzzcut wig.

Hindsgaul explained on Instagram: "A lot of people have asked me for the #eleven wig application video in colour and for some more details explaining the process.

"The most important is a tight wrap of her own hair so her head shape is as natural as possible with no bulk. For that we wetted her hair down and slicked it with a gel tight to her head placing her hair in a flattering manner.

"Afterwards her head would be wrapped tightly in an elastic material and we would put her under the heat to dry for 15 min."

The stylist added: "The second challenge was to make sure it was transparent so we can see her scalp through the hair."

The incredible team fixed this by sowing silk into the wrap to give the impression of skin under the hair.

Hindsgaul has been with the show since season one and called this season's wigs 'the hardest wig challenge I have ever been given'.

Still, they look pretty incredible and Eleven isn't the only character whose hair has been taken to new heights, or lows because it is a buzzcut, after all.

Hindsgaul added that Dr. Brenner's (Matthew Modine) hair was just as fun to create.

The stylist said of Brenner's classic snow-white hair: "Pappa had 3 looks for us this season as we had multiply flashbacks scenes and of course 1986. Amazing wigs by @robpickens.

"Again I can’t thank you enough and I am amazed you know how to read my drawings at this point.

"Here is some photos of the wigs before and after haircuts it also shows how we colour his own hair to get that beautiful white for 86 where we also add a few temple pieces playing with his hairline."

So, if you need some wig styling tips, Hindsgaul is the resident expert.
