Seth Rogen was stunned when Hollywood A-Lister agreed to do embarrassing scene in This Is The End

It's not every day you ask an A-lister to play a lovesick gimp

Though Seth Rogen used some master skills to convince a Hollywood A-Lister to do an embarrassing scene in This is the End, that doesn't mean he was any less stunned when they said yes.

Rogen's 2013 apocalypse movie continues to be a fan favourite, not least because of its star-studded cast, which includes Jonah Hill, Emma Watson, Paul Rudd, Kevin Hart, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Michael Cera and Craig Robinson.

But the A-lister we're here to talk about today is Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, who fans of the film will know played the masked gimp to a power mad Danny McBride.

Now, surely the job of an actor is to be prepared to play any role, but even so Rogen knew he had a mighty job on his hands trying to find a heartthrob Hollywood star to perform what ended up being a particularly... unique scene.

In it, McBride pulls out his leashed servant, who crawls on all fours with his butt on display.

The antagonist then points to said butt and says, "You see that? I'll f**king slide right into that, I do whatever I want, this my gimp."

Much to everyone's surprise, the gimp removes his mask to reveal himself as Channing Tatum, who then proceeds to hump McBridge's leg before professing his love for his master.

It's hard to forget this scene.

In a previous interview, Rogen said: "For almost the entire filming of the movie we were like, 'We'll never get a famous person to do this.'"

But Jonah Hill came to the rescue as he had one person in mind for the job - our friend Tatum.

What followed next was a very carefully worded email from Rogen, which he read aloud on Andy Cohen's Sirius XM Radio show several years back.

The message reads: "In the script, Danny has a gimp bitch that he keeps on the end of the leash. He refers to the guy as his little slut and talks about how he butt f**ks the gimp because there are no rules anymore.

"The gimp is wearing a wrestling mask, and when he pulls it up we would love nothing more than for it to be you underneath."

Seth Rogen was shocked that Channing Tatum agreed.

He added: "Please don’t take this the wrong way or be insulted by this. We just think it’s a great joke and you would be great doing it."

Unbelievably, Tatum agreed, although he did later admit he'd 'probably had too much to drink' when he opened the email. Relatable.
