Keanu Reeves has opened up about what he's taken from film sets he's worked on including the iconic The Matrix.

In the first episode of the trilogy, Keanu Reeves' character of Neo is offered a choice between two pills - red and blue. And while fans of the film will already know the decision he made, some may not know Reeves went on to actually take one of the pills away from the set of the film, with the actor since revealing which one.

Last year, Lionsgate took to Reddit thread r/movies to hand over the keyboard to Reeves for fans of the actor to ask him anything.

One user asked: "Have you ever stolen anything from a set?"

And Reeves then revealed he's 'not stolen' but taken certain items off the set of not just one but three of his films.

He said: "Not stolen… the watch and wedding ring from John Wick, a sword from 47 Ronin, and the first red pill that the Wachowski’s ever gave me."

The Wachowskis being directors of The Matrix, Lana and Lilly.

And it didn't take long for fans of the 1999 action sci-fi to go wild in the comments.

One user said: "Kind of weird to think about a human being possessing THE red pill, considering how the term has become such a memetic part of internet culture."

Another responded: "Lucky for us Keanu is a benevolent ruler and does not abuse the power of the pill. We are blessed."

"You both took and didn’t take the pill," a third wrote.

Someone else added: "I thought the blue pill was supposed to lead you back to the real world. Did Laurence Fishburne get the blue pill?"

Another simply stated: "Taking the first red pill is seriously cool."

And one user responded: "It's the Reeves juju. If he keeps a memento from a film he is involved in, the memento starts absorbing all the Keanu magical juju. Then the juju slowly spreads around the world like a mist centered directly from whichever memento he has. Now we, the people of the world, are all enchanted by these magical powers and the movies that he has taken these trinkets from become classics."

Elsewhere in the Reddit thread, Reeves covered a whole lot more bases too, not only revealing he'd definitely 'accept the responsibility of being the first to contact' aliens should they come to earth, asking them how their trip was and if they wanted anything to eat or drink, but also sharing what his first pet was.

He replied: "Yes… the first pet I ever had was guinea pig named Carrot. I was 5 or 6 years old. He was a cutie-pie."
