Supernatural star Mark Sheppard brought back to life after six ‘massive’ heart attacks

Supernatural's Mark Sheppard informed fans of his recent health scare on Instagram.

Supernatural star Mark Sheppard has revealed how he was brought back to life after suffering six 'massive' heart attacks last week.

The actor, who has also featured in the likes of In the Name of the Father and Megalodon, has thanked his wife Sarah Louise Fudge for saving his life after his near-death experience on Friday (1 December).

The 59-year-old said he suffered a 'widowmaker' - one of the most deadly cardiac arrests where the largest coronary artery (the LAD) becomes completely blocked.

The terrible ordeal involved four resuscitations after Sheppard collapsed in his Los Angeles kitchen.

The actor informed his fans on Instagram, where he posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed at Providence St Joseph California with several heart monitors attached to his chest.

Telling his 1.7 million followers on Saturday (2 December), Sheppard penned: "You're not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen.

"Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead four times I apparently had a 100 percent blockage in my LAD. The Widowmaker.

"If not for my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment at Mullholland and the incredible staff @providencecalifornia St Joseph's - I wouldn't be writing this.

"My chances of survival were virtually nil. I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow! #spnfamily."

Many of Sheppard's co-stars have flocked to the comment section of the post to wish the actor well following his recent health scare.

The actor's co-star Misha Collins called his miraculous resurrection 'impressive', saying: "Mark! You don't need to do the most and biggest every time! 6 heart attacks? 2 or 3 would have been impressive enough. You've impressed us, okay. Now stop with this heal up and get back on the road with us. Love you, pal."

Many have wished the actor well.

And a third said: "Jesus Christ.. oh man Sheppard, that’s way too close man. Praying you get well soon and back on your feet. Take care of yourself, brother."

Sheppard married Fudge in August 2015, later marrying at a ceremony in Malibu, California in November 2016.

The couple welcomed daughter, Isabella Rose, in March of that year, with the seven-year-old ever present on the couple's Instagram pages as they documents their lives.
