What do you get when the likes of Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino are together in one room? Ricky Stanicky, of course.

The highly-anticipated comedy, which drops on Prime Video next month, boasts an impressive cast with Fargo actor William H. Macy and Loudermilk's Anja Savcic also starring alongside Efron, Cena, Fowler and Santino.

And comedy fans will be delighted to know it's directed by comedy legend Peter Farrelly who brought Dumb and Dumber to the world.

Introducing the upcoming flick, the streamer said: "When three childhood best friends pull a prank that goes wrong, they invent the imaginary Ricky Stanicky to get them out of trouble. Twenty years later, they still use the nonexistent Ricky as a handy alibi for their immature behavior."

The movie marks Efron's first comedy film in quite some time; the 36-year-old's fan favorites include Neighbors, Dirty Grandpa, and That Awkward Moment.

And, with its fantastic cast in mind, audiences naturally have high hopes for Ricky Stanicky.

"I hope Ricky Stanicky brings back the comedy movie genre to life," someone penned on X.

"This has the potential to be funny as hell," added a second.

"Ricky Stanicky looks so f**king funny bro," a third echoed, with one fan adding: "We need more of this type of movies in our life please."

The movie doesn't just mark Efron's comedic return, but director Farrelly's as well.

Farrelly's last film was 2018's Green Book, which grabbed two Oscars for the eminent director.

He was also one of the brains behind the comedy classics Shallow Hal and There’s Something About Mary alongside his brother, Bobby Farrelly.

Ahead of production getting underway, lead actor John Cena tweeted his excitement about the role.

"Beyond excited to help bring these characters to life (both on and off screen) with an incredible cast, our director and producers and partners at @‌AmazonStudios @primevideo," he said.

"#RickyStanicky is a best friend to all — can’t wait for you to meet him!"

And when can you meet him, I hear you ask?

The comedy officially drops globally on Prime Video on 7 March.
