New Thor: Love And Thunder Image Shows Natalie Portman In God Mode

New Thor: Love And Thunder Image Shows Natalie Portman In God Mode

Natalie Portman has bulked up for the latest Thor film.

Actress Natalie Portman has stepped up her game as Jane in the latest Thor movie, due to be released in July.

A leaked still from the new movie Thor: Love and Thunder show Portman sitting alongside actress Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. In the leaked image, both women look stony-faced as they sit on thrones in Asgard.

The image, leaked on Reddit, has sent Marvel fans wild as Portman's 'hench' biceps steal the show.

Watch the trailer here:

The new film is a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok, and fans of the series are expecting to see Natalie Portman as a second Thor called Mighty Thor. Thor, usually played by Chris Hemsworth, is known for his mighty muscled physique, so it's only natural Portman followed suit.

Portman, who usually has a petite figure at just 5ft 2in, looks beefed up for her character's storyline and her new muscles have surprised movie fans.

One fan tweeted: "I did not call Natalie Portman getting so yoked for her role in THOR LOVE AND THUNDER that we'd have to consider her induction into the BAD ASS list, but here we are."

Another joked: "If Thor: Love and Thunder doesn't have a scene where Natalie Portman is doing arm curls as vocalizations of Aerosmith's Janie's Got a Gun intensifies, then I'm going to burn down the world [sic]."

On Reddit, one user commented: "...damn, she's looking impressive. As a person who wasn't really a fan of her being Thor, I was 100% wrong and I think she's gonna kill it."

Keen fans have also reminded everyone that Natalie's character is not Thor, but a version of him.

Portman's new hench look has been one of the most talked-about updates ahead of the film being released in July. The film, which is part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been delayed multiple times due to the pandemic. Portman was confirmed to be returning to the Thor film series in 2019.

The film sees award-winning actor Christian Bale enter the franchise to play the latest villain, Gorr the God Butcher. The latest instalment of the story will see Thor stepping away from his superhero days before being called back into action alongside Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who transforms into the Mighty Thor.

The team must join together to stop Gorr the God Butcher from eliminating all gods in his act of vengeance.

Thor: Love and Thunder is released 8 July 2022.
