An 'epically watchable' crime drama has been dubbed the 'best series ever' by its strong fanbase.

Despite having been on Netflix for quite some time, some fans are only just discovering the show that follows a female cartel leader - and if you're one of those subscribers who hasn't seen the main character Teresa Mendoza yet... you're in luck.

While new film and TV shows are added to the streaming platform on a weekly basis, sometimes you need to look through its archives to find gold - in there you'll find the likes of Stranger Things, need I say more?

So what is the show Netflix users are raving about?

Ladies and gentlemen, Queen of the South - which you may already be familiar with as it's been out since 2016.

As mentioned earlier, the series follows Teresa Mendoza, who unfortunately falls in love with a member of a successful drug cartel.

But after her boyfriend is murdered, Teresa is forced to flee the country, eventually taking refuge in the US.

And while you may think that is the end of the story, Teresa's troubles are unfortunately not over.

While the first season may have been out for eight years at this point, many are only just discovering Queen of the South.

And, of course, many have flocked to Facebook's 'Netflix Bangers' to discuss it with fellow subscribers.

One user wrote: "Best series ever watched and watched and watched and ill watch again, and again love it and it gets better every time I watch it and I wnt tire of watching it , sorry but its true.. try it and you will see I'm right ...."

A second penned: "One of the best series I’ve watched."

While a third typed: "One of the best shows I have ever seen !":

"This, narcos and el patron de mal. Best 3 shows on netflix," a fourth added.

All those comments have something in common... oh yeah, that Queen of the South is the best show they have ever seen.

But they weren't alone singing its praises. Another added: "Really good also unlike most series today has a beginning and Ending so no waiting 2 years for the next season highly recommend."

Yes, it is much loved - even by critics like Cristina Escobar, of RogerEbert.com, who wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: "Epically watchable... The final season is extremely well done, delivering our characters to their destinations in ways both satisfying and surprising."

The fifth season of Queen of the South sits at an impressive 88 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
