A TV series that was developed by Seth Rogen is still being raved about nearly a decade on from its initial release.

Rogen is best known for starring in cult-classic comedies such as Superbad, Bad Neighbors, and Pineapple Express, but the actor is also a successful producer and he's been behind the scenes on several hit films and TV shows.

His most recent project, The Studio, landed on AppleTV+ on March 26, while Rogen has also worked on the likes of Pam & Tommy, as well as one one Amazon Prime Video's most popular series -The Boys.

But before The Boys, Rogen worked on a series for AMC.

    See the trailer here:

Both shows are based off comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

Like Rogen's other projects, there are some famous faces tied to the series. It debuted in 2016 and ended after the release of its fourth season in 2019.

Preacher stars the likes of Dominic Cooper, Joe Gilgun, Presumed Innocent star Ruth Negga, and The Hobbit favorite Graham McTavish.

The synopsis for the series, as per IMDb, reads: "After a supernatural event at his church, a preacher enlists the help of a vampire and his ex to find God."

While it wasn't created by Netflix, all four seasons are currently available to stream on the platform.

If the all-star cast and synopsis hasn't enticed you in yet, maybe Preacher's glowing reviews will.

On a Reddit thread dedicated to TV show suggestions, one fan said of the four-season show: "It has everything a show needs. Tons of action, comedy, some drama. It's totally different from other shows. If you liked The Boys you'll love it."

Another added: "It’s almost as bonkers as the comics. Pretty good show."

Elsewhere, Preacher has an 87 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

"Uninhibited, gory, genuinely creepy and ridiculously good fun," someone gushed.

Another person penned: "A truly amazing show, everything is it's right place and it is never boring."

A different Preacher fan went as far as dubbing the show as the 'best show on television'.

As to why there wasn't a fifth season of the show, it wasn't canceled but instead came to a 'natural conclusion', as Screen Rant put it.

When people raised suspicion that Preacher had been axed, Rogen took to Twitter and said: "It’s not cancelled. It’s just ending."

All four seasons of Preacher are available to stream on Netflix now.
