Adam Sandler has certainly divided his fans with his latest Netflix film with some piling on the harsh criticism.

Adam Sandler is one of the greatest actors still putting out work today... to some fans, and to others the man has never put out anything of quality.

Wherever you stand on the funny man, he has been working in Hollywood for over 30 years and still putting out work to mixed critical and financial success.

For those who have written him off, he has still proven his acting and creative chops by bringing brilliant performances in some of his films over the last few years.

Hustle was beloved by basketball fans all over the world, Uncut Gems showcased his drama capabilities and in 2023, his animated film Leo warmed the hearts of families everywhere.

But his 2024 flick, Spaceman has been getting slammed by Netflix viewers.

The viewers in the Facebook group, Netflix Bangers have said they wouldn’t recommend it, some calling it an absolute bizarre snore fest.

The film revolves around astronaut Jakub Procházka, played by Sandler, who is coming to the end of his solo mission on the edge of the solar system. He becomes concerned with the state of his life back on Earth and discusses this with an ancient creature he discovers on his ship.

So sure, certainly a bit out there compared to the typical slapstick, low-brow comedy you might associate Sandler with.

“I fell asleep to it. When I saw the spider that was my cue to disengage,” one user wrote.

“Oh man, the worst movie so far this year. My bad was I watch till the end hoping for a plot twist,” added another.

“I love him but his movies r pretty bad as of late,” a third wrote.

“I agree 100 percent the film's absolutely awful, it's such a slow slog all the way thru with an absolutely shocking ending that's not even worth it,” another user commented.

“Horrible movie, Adam Sandler needs to stick to comedy. Just my opinion,” another wrote.

However, some fans in the group vehemently defended the flick, not only stating that they enjoyed it, but that it offered up interesting philosophies and showcased a different side to Sandler.

The film hasn’t landed particularly well with critics. It currently has a 49% tomatometer score.

With that being said, the film hasn’t landed particularly well with critics. It currently has a 49 percent critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The audience score, with more than 500 reviews, rates it a little higher with a score of 65 percent and over on IMDb it has a 5.8 out of 10 score.

So clearly not everyone’s cup of tea, but might be worth a watch if you want something a little different from Sandler.
