Netflix's You series led to one of the craziest Fox News moments in history

Chaos quickly ensued after the show was brought up

Ever since it first arrived on our screens in 2018, Netflix's show You has been causing problems.

"I was watching You," "I love You," and "I find You so creepy" all have the potential to be very easily misinterpreted, but perhaps the most chaotic moment related to the show took place live on TV for all to see.

See the confusion unfold for yourself below:

I'm sure most people with Netflix accounts will be aware of the popular drama starring Penn Badgley, especially with the fourth season having only recently arrived, to much anticipation.

If you're not aware of the show, however, it's called You, because it follows Joe Goldberg (Badgley) as he fixates on various new obsessions, narrating his way through life and repeatedly referring to his obsession as 'you'.

It's fairly easy to wrap your head around once you know what's going on, but unfortunately Fox News host Laura Ingraham indicated she absolutely did not know what was going on when she entered into a conversation about the show during a live segment in 2021.

During the show Ingraham welcomed Raymond Arroyo to discuss 'wokeness' in TV shows, and Arroyo made reference to Netflix's You.

“I was watching an episode of You when measles came up,” he said.

It didn't take long for the apparent confusion to kick in after this comment, with Ingraham interrupting to respond: “Wait, wait, wait. When did I mention measles?”

What followed was a back-and-forth that went on for much longer than it probably should have, with Arroyo repeatedly trying to insist that he wasn't talking about Ingraham specifically and assure her that no, there isn't a Netflix show called Laura Ingraham.

The pair weren't able to find their way to the same page before moving on to a new topic, resulting in a viral moment that quickly racked up millions of views as it was shared online.

Though many viewers were convinced the bit was spontaneous, Ingraham later claimed she and Arroyo had actually rehearsed the back-and-forth before going on air.

After comedian Andy Richter responded to the ordeal to say those laughing at it made him feel like he'd 'wasted the last 35 years of' his life, Ingraham said: "You know what I think Raymond? I think there are a lot of liberals out there who don't like conservatives having fun. That's what I think.

"You know what else I think? I think they haven't gotten a laugh in like 30 years and a thing that we practiced for, what, like, 30 seconds, we got like 20 million views on YouTube."

Badgley himself was among those who watched the chaotic scene unfold, though he seemed to catch on quickly as he responded: "It’s gotta be a bit. Dude is committed, he actually made me lol, but watch how he waits for her to cut him off."

Planned or not, at least the segment provided some good exposure for you. No, not you, You!
