After Ozark's final episode left fans reeling, Netflix may potentially be considering a spin-off.
The show's final episode aired last month and left fans wondering what was next for the Byrde family they'd been following since 2017.
And now, showrunner Chris Mundy has spoken about the potential for a spin-off.

The hit series follows the Byrde family, who move to the Ozarks after being coerced into and eventually end up enjoying money laundering.
Pretty much everyone who meets the family ends up worse off, which has left them with a trail of enemies and an explosive ending that aired late last month.
Take a look at the trailer below:

Whether you dip in and out of the series or have seen it through to the bitter end, we can all agree on one thing — the Byrdes aren't good people.
So, naturally, when the finale came around people wanted to see them get some kind of comeuppance.
What happened instead was that fan-favorite Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) met a bitter end while the Byrdes got off scot-free.
This left many wondering whether there was more to explore in the story and if there was the potential for a spin-off.

Some even took to Twitter to say: "Anyone else think an #Ozark spin off series, set when The Snells first met would be good?"
Well, now Mundy has shed some light on spin-off questions and it's not exactly a no!
Speaking to TV Line the showrunner said: "It’s definitely something that people have talked about a bunch.

"There’s nothing definitive. We’re lucky that people seem to really like the show so there’s obviously going to be some interest there. There are still ways to stay inside the show and revisit things."
So, while that looks promising, Mundy quickly referenced the controversial killing of one of the series' favourites: "I’m sure people probably would’ve been happier if Ruth was out there."
While we would've loved a Ruth Langmore spin-off, that doesn't seem like a possibility, which Mundy added: "It was really important for me to end this show."

"This is the work we did, we did our best and we hope people like it."
However, there might still be a way for the series to be revived: "And then anything that spins off from it would be its own distinct thing, even though it’s in our universe."
