Josh Brolin is asked if Thanos will return to Marvel films and fans are divided by his response

The actor has heard rumors...

Josh Brolin's response to being asked whether or not Thanos will return to Marvel has seriously divided fans.

As fans will agree, Thanos seems to be a cat with nine lives.

The Marvel villain has died a total of seven times across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all in very different ways.

From being beheaded by Thor, to the Illuminati using the Book of Vishanti; his murders have been some-what imaginative.

Four of Thanos' deaths have occurred on What If...? - a TV series that explores alternate timelines in the multiverse.

Meanwhile, the other three took place on the big screen in Avengers: End Game, Avengers: Infinity War and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

There seems to be no stopping him as Thanos somehow manages to creep back into the MCU all the time and.

With this in mind, Josh Brolin (who plays Thanos) has addressed whether the titan will be back once again.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Brolin said: "You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they're gonna bring him back, and there's the What If...? series and that's a different kind of Thanos and all that.

"But I don't know in the Marvel world whether they're going to bring him back, but I didn't know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain. You learn something new every day."

The prospect of Thanos' return has since divided Marvel fans.

"MARVEL FINALLY MADE A GOOD DECISION," one person penned on X at the idea of the villain making a comeback.

"That would be unnecessary but interesting," added another.

Someone else suggested: "Thanos' return could be a game changer. Alternate universe or not, he's a powerful villain whose story isn't over yet."

But others were less in favor of the idea.

Noting Iron Man's devastating death, someone wrote: "I’m not a fan of this. It cheapens Iron Man’s sacrifice and makes it completely pointless."

"Why?" questioned another. "You guy’s literally have so many other good Endgame-type villains. He doesn’t need to come back."

A different person weighed in: "It seems like they would have no reason to bring him back; he played his part already."

While many suggested the the MCU is 'over', acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn has high hopes that Deadpool 3 will save it.

Speaking on BroBible’s Post Credit podcast, Vaughn said: "The few snippets that I know about 'Deadpool vs. Wolverine' [...] are unbelievable."

He went on: "The Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life.

"I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel Universe."

Deadpool 3, directed by Shawn Levy, hits cinemas later this year.
