My 600-lb. Life's Larry Myers Jr. has died at the age of 49.

Larry, who was also lovingly known as ‘Mr Buttermilk Biscuits’, died from a heart attack only three days after his birthday.

He earned this memorable nickname after he went viral for singing about the food in a chicken restaurant.

The reality star's cousin, Todd Darrell, announced his death in a social media post over the weekend: “It’s with great sorrow that we announce the passing of my dear cousin Larry Myers.

“Many of you know him as Mr. Buttermilk Biscuits. If you can help us we would greatly appreciate it.

“Thanks and blessings to all. Please keep our family in your prayers.”

The family also shared a link to a GoFundMe page to go towards costs for his funeral services.

Larry became a star after appearing in the tenth series of TLC’s My 600-lb Life, in an episode titled ‘Larry’s Journey’.

At the time, he weighed 940 pounds and was totally bed-bound after he had already gained 400 pounds from a previous weight loss surgery.

But he was determined to get some help to drop the weight and said: “The relationship that I have with food, I know that it's not normal.

“I eat to comfort myself. When I'm cooking, it's the only time I'm happy, besides when I'm eating.

“So it's the time that I like to sing and I sing gospel. Because the rest of the time, when I'm not eating, most of my thoughts are morbidly depressing.”

Wanting to make it as a gospel singer, he dropped 100 pounds on the show and went on to launch a music career under the name Buttermilk Biscuits.

As well as releasing the song ‘Lord I Thank You’, Larry shared clips on TikTok showing him putting in the effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The Sun also reported he was going to release a book, titled The Weight of Grief: One Man’s Journey to Overcome Addiction & Find Hope.

Fans of the Buttermilk Biscuits legend reacted in shock to his death on Twitter, with one writing: “BUTTERMILK BISCUITS! I hope he’s having a big plate of them on the other side.”

Another said: “The guy who sing buttermilk biscuit from 600lbs life died. He was a rare soul.”
