Kevin Spacey Asks Court To Throw Out 'Absolutely False' Sexual Assault Case

Kevin Spacey is accused of assaulting Anthony Rapp at a party in 1986 when Rapp was 14.

Kevin Spacey has denied a sexual assault case against him from 1986, claiming that it is ‘absolutely false’ and should be thrown out.

The 61-year-old actor has ‘categorically denied’ the accusations and said that he 'did not harbour any sexual interest or desire in Mr Rapp at the time or since'.

Spacey hasn’t worked in Hollywood since the accusations were made against him back in October 2017.

His accuser Anthony Rapp says that he was the victim of an 'unwanted sexual advance' by Spacey when he was in attendance at a party aged only 14.

Spacey was sacked from House of Cards after the allegations emerged.

Documents filed in New York claim that Spacey showed up unannounced and picked up Rapp, putting him on a bed at the party.

Rapp then claims that Spacey put his body weight against him, pressing him down until he ‘wriggled’ out.

Spacey claims that no interaction he had with Rapp was ever ‘for the purpose of degrading him or abusing him’.

In the documents, Spacey wrote: “I categorically deny plaintiff Anthony Rapp’s claim that I sexually assaulted him or otherwise made a ‘sexual advance’ on him,

“I met Mr Rapp several decades ago. I never had a sexual encounter with Mr Rapp. Nor did I harbour any sexual interest or desire in Mr Rapp at that time or any time.

“Nor did I have physical contact with Mr Rapp or any other interaction with him that was for the purpose of sexual gratification of either me or him.

“Nor did I have any physical contact with Mr Rapp or any other interaction with him that was for the purpose of degrading or abusing him.”

The documents continued: “Any suggestion otherwise by Mr Rapp or anyone else is absolutely false.”

Spacey’s lawyers deny that the incident ever took place at all, and they claim that the allegations do not qualify as sexual abuse.

They claim that Spacey’s only accused contact with an ‘intimate’ part of Rapp’s body was when the House of Cards star’s hand grazed his buttocks as he picked up the younger actor.

Spacey’s lawyers claim Rapp’s deposition has already confirmed that there was no touching sufficient to constitute criminal conduct, and there was no other evidence that any contact was for the purpose of degradation, sexual gratification, or abuse.

After Rapp first spoke about the incident in 2017, Spacey claimed he had no recollection of the incident, but apologised.

Once the allegations were made public, Spacey was fired from House of Cards and was cut out of Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World.
