Kevin Hart hit with calls to quit acting after new Netflix film is rated as his worst ever

The comedian's latest film has received very mixed reviews from Netflix users

After years of watching him in comedy films, Kevin Hart's latest Netflix movie has apparently proved a final straw for some viewers as people are now calling for him to give up acting altogether.

He entertained families with Jumanji, captivated audiences with True Story and brought to life animated animals in The Secret Life of Pets and Super Pets, but viewers are not keen on Hart attempting Me Time.

The new Netflix movie arrived on the streaming service on 26 August, and though it still sits in Netflix's Top 10 movies at the time of writing (5 September), the reviews aren't very encouraging. To put it nicely.

Me Time earned Hart his lowest-rated movie ever.

Me Time has actually become both Hart and co-star Mark Wahlberg's lowest-rated film of all time on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of just 7 percent on the Tomatometer and an audience score of 29 percent.

After the film arrived on the streaming service, one internet user decided to turn to Reddit to question 'why Kevin Hart keeps getting roles in triple A movies alongside some very established actors'.

The poster described Hart as a 'crappy actor', adding: "[In my opinion] he's an average B movie actor at best. Don't get me wrong I like the guy but his acting seems incredibly forced and I am just getting a bit sick of seeing him in films."

The post sparked mixed reviews, but many agreed with comments saying Hart was 'not good' and that studios were paying Hart 'to be him' rather than to be a 'good actor'.

On Twitter, another film fan wrote: "No ways, Kevin Hart can’t keep getting away with this horrible acting."

In spite of the poor reviews, Hart continues to encourage people to watch Me Time and questioned the choices of those who haven't yet done so, writing: "If you haven’t watched “Me Time” on @netflix yet what in the hell are you waiting for????? Give yourself what you deserve and that’s some “Me Time” …..Now go watch my movie damn it."

Years in the limelight have probably helped harden Hart to some negative feedback every now and again, but there are still a lot of supporters out there who have made clear they would be sad to see him pack in acting altogether.

Some Reddit users argued it was simply a case of Hart finding the 'right role', while others pointed to his appearance in dramas such as True Story and The Upside as proof that he is good at his job.

"True Story and Fatherhood should change peoples minds about him as an actor," one fan wrote, while another commented: "I’m a big fan of @KevinHart4real's comedy but True Story is probably my favorite project of his."

I can't imagine Hart will abandon acting any time soon, but at least those who aren't a fan always have the power to simply not watch his movies.
