Julia Roberts reveals secret nickname she's got George Clooney saved in her phone as

Julia Roberts has a unique name in her phone for frequent co-star George Clooney

Julia Roberts has revealed she has a special name saved in her phone to represent her celebrity pal George Clooney.

Now, it would be fair to assume that Julia Roberts has a decent number of very famous people in her phone book, given the number of movies she’s been in over her stellar career.

However, even in that exalted company they probably don’t get a lot more well-known than George Clooney.

The pair have starred together in a number of films together, including three Ocean’s Eleven flicks, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Money Monster, and – now – new movie Ticket to Paradise. You can check the trailer for that out here:

So, over the years they’ve developed quite a professional relationship, and that has translated into some light-hearted fun in Roberts’ mobile phone.

Speaking in an interview to promote that new film, the pair were asked by YouTube host Jake Hamilton about how they refer to each other in their phones.

Roberts then revealed that Clooney is saved in her phone as ‘Batman Cell’.

She admitted: “There’s no picture, but George is in my phone under the code name ‘Batman Cell'."

That’s obviously a reference to Clooney’s ill-fated turn as Batman in the 1990s.

The film Batman & Robin didn’t go down particularly well with audiences, and Clooney himself has even marked it down as a miss in the past.

Let’s park that for now, we’ll get back to it.

After explaining the name, Roberts added: “Now I have to change it!”

Piping up, Clooney said: “And mine’s ‘Pretty Woman'.”

He quickly added: “It’s not, but I just tried. I’m literally lying about that. I think it’s just ‘J.R.’ or something like that,

“I don’t put ‘Julia Roberts’ because if my phone gets picked up, then all hell breaks loose.”

True – us mere mortals take for granted our ability to save people in our phones by their actual names.

As for Clooney’s time as Batman, he admitted that while the film might have been crap, he did at least learn something from it.

In a 2019 interview, he explained: “I wasn’t good in it and it wasn’t a good film.

“What I learned from that failure was that I had to rethink how I was working, because now I wasn’t just an actor getting a role; I was being held responsible for the film itself.”

It clearly worked, as he went on to win two Oscars, one in front of and one behind the camera.

Roberts has got one as well, to be fair.

Despite working together many times and becoming pals, the pair are adamant that they’ve never had a ‘no dating’ policy between them.

Roberts said: “I don’t think we needed to state it. It just seemed like the right thing to do.”

Clooney expanded, stating that the pair have often been in other relationships, adding: “And we were fast friends right away. So, it was nothing, but it's been nothing but fun for us,

“So, I don't think that was ever really a thing.”

Ticket to Paradise is out in cinemas now.
