Elizabeth Olsen complains about doing her own Marvel stunts and says it’s a ‘waste of everyone’s time’

The WandaVision star reflected on performing her own stunts in the 2022 Doctor Strange sequel.

Don’t expect Elizabeth Olsen to do any of her own Marvel stunts going forward because she says it's ‘a waste of everyone’s time’.

We all love an honest queen and now the WandaVision star has opened up about filming stunts during a recent visit to The Late Show.

Olsen and host Stephen Colbert chatted about the stunts she’s done so far as a superhero and the moment that changed everything.

The 34-year-old actress said it’s ‘ridiculous’ that she’s done most of her Marvel stunts as the Scarlet Witch and she has a lot to say about it.

“Your stomach leaves you. It’s like, I guess, the joy people get on roller coasters, which I don’t get, but people love that feeling,” the actor said.

“I’ve definitely recovered from my giddiness. Sometimes I’m just like, ‘OK, how many more of these do you want? I can do this all day’ kind of thing.

"But sometimes I get a little freaked out.”

Olsen discussed one scene in particular from the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which seemingly changed her perspective on doing her own stunts.

Elizabeth Olsen does not want to perform her own stunts anymore.

“There is one in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where I had to be dropped from 30 feet up and land,” she explained.

"They wanted to drop me pretty quickly so that it looked like it had an impact, but I kept landing like Peter Pan, kind of like fencing?

"I was like, ‘Just use the double. This is so ridiculous — there is a double for a reason. Like, face replace…’ They do it all the time. And they used it.”

Although Olsen did not perform all of her own stunts in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she did do ‘most of them’ which she now thinks was a total waste of time for everyone involved.

“It’s a waste of everyone’s time because a stunt double does it so much better”, she quipped.

Olsen said she did many of her own stunts in the Doctor Strange sequel.

When asked about when she’ll return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch, who was last seen being crushed under a giant building, Olsen said she has no idea.

Prior to the dramatic scene towards the end of the film, Wanda had sacrificed herself to destroy Darkhold, the evil book that turned her into a villain.

With that said, Olsen’s stunt double will have a lot more to do whenever Wanda returns to the screen.
