Bryan Cranston says he would love to play Willie Nelson in a biopic about the singer’s life

Could Bryan Cranston get any cooler? Yep, when paired with Willie Nelson.

Bryan Cranston has revealed the ultimate person he'd like to play in a biopic.

As if the Malcolm in the Middle funnyman couldn't get any cooler, he's gone and done this.

Cranston, in a sit-down with entertainment rag NME, said: "Willie Nelson comes to mind."

Because of course he did.

Cranston, bless his heart, went on to elaborate as to why.

"[It's] the hair and the beard," Cranston said.

The 66-year-old added with a laugh: "I think there’s some physical resemblance. He’s very old and wrinkled, and I can relate to that."

Cranston could play anything and we'd be thrilled. He can do no wrong.

"So I wouldn’t have to wear a lot of makeup."

On a more serious note, Cranston did get into the nitty gritty as to why he'd love to play the grizzled old musician.

"Willie’s had a fascinating career – as a writer and as a performer, and as a free speech person, being anti-war and on the forefront of hemp [culture]," Cranston told NME.

"That’s kind of interesting to me, even though I don’t vibe with that stuff.

He added: "I don’t like smoking, it just doesn’t do it for me."

We don't know about you, but we can totally see Cranston playing the country music crooner.

But, at the moment that's all talk. Dream casting, if you will.

However, if you put enough intention into the universe, things tend to go your way. Or so some schools of thought believe.

Either way, Nelson has lived a life that will undoubtedly one day need its own telling.

But, for now, we'll have to settle for his current adventures.

For instance, only last week Nelson, 89, opened up about smoking up with Snoop Dogg in Amsterdam.

Now, if I was a fly on a wall, that would be one stoner chat that would be incredible to listen in on.

The country music icon sat down with People magazine, revealing he is gearing up to celebrate the big 90 with a star-studded birthday party.

Nelson also revealed he and the iconic 'Drop It Like It's Hot' rapper 'smoked a lot of marijuana and had a lot of fun' while in the 'Dam.

"I love Snoop. He and I are great friends — have been forever," Nelson said.

Incredible. They'd be an ideal pairing.

Like wine and cheese. Or even gin and juice.

Or even, if the movie Gods will permit, like Bryan Cranston in a Willie Nelson biopic.
