Black Mirror has released its first full trailer and fans of the series are going wild.

While fans may have initially felt disappointed after learning the number of episodes the upcoming season has, any reservations have swiftly gone out the window after seeing the first full trailer for Black Mirror's sixth season.

Featuring 'five new worlds,' 'five new realities,' 'five new revelations,' nightmares, hallucinations' and 'rabbit-holes,' the award-winning anthology series warns to 'expect the unexpected' - which given how mind-boggling it usually is anyway, means the upcoming season is set to be BIG.

Teasing us even further, Netflix has released the official synopsis for the sixth season.

It reads: "Expect the unexpected. The long-awaited return of Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series which reinvents itself with each new episode.

"The sixth season of Black Mirror is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet."

The first film of the season is titled JOAN IS AWFUL.

Salma Hayek Pinault is one of the stars of the first film of the season.
Netflix

"An average woman is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life -- in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek," the synopsis reads.

The second LOCH HENRY teases: "A young couple travel to a sleepy Scottish town to start work on a genteel nature documentary - but find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past."

The synopsis of the third episode of the sixth season, titled BEYOND THE SEA, reads: "In an alternative 1969, two men on a perilous high-tech mission wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy."

Question is, will Nessie get a feature?
Netflix

MAZEY DAY - the fourth film - is described as: "A troubled starlet is dogged by invasive paparazzi while dealing with the consequences of a hit-and-run incident."

The fifth and final episode of the sixth season is DEMON 74: "Northern England, 1979. A meek sales assistant is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster."

In an interview with Netflix's Tudum platform, one of the executive producers of the season, Brooker, reflected on all the stories as being 'still tonally Black Mirror thought-and-through - but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before'.

'Breaking Bad' actor Aaron Paul stars in 'BEYOND THE SEA'.

Fans of the series have flooded to social media in awe over the first full trailer.

One Twitter user said: "Omg finally. Missed you guys so badly lol."

"Seated! And what a great cast," another added while a third commented: "Time to reactivate ye olde Netflix acct."

And a final resolved: "Can you dm me the season early so i can make sure its ready??? im a professional."

But the good news is, fans don't have long to wait at all, as the latest season is set to launch globally on Netflix on 15 June, 2023.
